This map illustrates retail pharmacy closures that occurred between 2021-2024 in Mississippi.

While money continues to pour into Mississippi from out of state PBMs (pharmacy benefit managers), pharmacies in our state continue to struggle and are forced to close. Many of these pharmacies are in rural and underserved communities forcing the poorest of our citizens to drive sometimes an hour or more to have prescriptions filled. Our elected representatives should look out for the citizens of Mississippi and not corporations located in other states. Please call your representatives or the Capitol Switchboard at 601-359-3770 and tell them you want the House to pass SB2677 (pharmacy benefit prompt pay act) “as is”.
