I disappeared. But here’s why.

I have been BUSY!

Last year after my daughter was born I was DESPERATE to do something that would help me “forget” about how horrible my postpartum was going. So I started the MA program at CWI.

In March I passed my national license exam with a 90% and landed an INCREDIBLE position at a local pediatricians office and have been working full time.

Today was my first day off orientation. I love it almost as much as birth. I have 1 more due date in June and then I am taking a much needed mental health break from hospitals.

And who knows. Maybe I will get to help take care of your babies 😉

My car seating self is so excited!

The car I had getting new tires unexpectedly um died just a few minutes after leaving the tire shop. That was not fun.

We ended up selling that as a project car and getting a new to us Dinosaur… i mean expedition which meant six new car seats!

The best (and most painful) part of this was ordering 6 seats!

What weird adulting thing makes you happy and excited?!

Finished and published a gallery tonight that is totally out of my niche and something I have never done and I think I might have nailed it.

A friend who is a local small business (Pediatric Therapy Clinic) owner asked if I would be up for it and I said heck yes.

We have a few of her staff that didn’t make it in for the shoot so we will need to get those done but guys. They turned out so good. And I only have like a fatal level of imposter syndrome 😂😂

Hang tight. I might get to share a few 😉

Dear Families facing the stressful and potentially devastating loss of your pregnancy and birth care providers.

As a mom who had an undeniable connection with her midwife, I cannot even fathom what you must be going through.

As a doula, I also cannot fathom the stress that these changes may be causing you. Having a doula in these circumstances can be a huge blessing as you navigate and interview new doctors and midwives, consider out of hospital vs in-hospital. I would be happy to stand next to you and support you through this process and be your consistent support throughout the transition and the birth of your baby. This process may be met with grief if you were very connected to your team and I would be honored to hold space for you.

I am so sorry to everyone who found out over FB posts and media outlets yesterday.

Normal fetal heart rate is between 110 and 170. Usually detected by ultrasound in early pregnancy and by doppler in the second trimester. Some women and providers can find it earlier and some babies hide behind placentas and low in the pelvis making it hard to detect with a doppler.

When did you hear your baby’s heartbeat for the 1st time?

Also. Can we just marvel at the fact that that tiny little gummy bear sized fetus grows into a newborn baby?! Our bodies are incredible!
