Let’s talk about why SPF numbers confuse so many people — even smart ones. 🧴👀

You’d think SPF 100 would mean twice the protection of SPF 50, right?
Wrong. It’s all based on a math formula that doesn’t scale in a way our brains naturally understand.

🧠 Here’s the Science:
SPF = Sun Protection Factor
It measures how much longer it would take your skin to redden with sunscreen than without it.

SPF 30 means: You can theoretically be in the sun 30x longer without burning.

SPF 50 = 50x longer.

But that’s under lab conditions, with a perfectly thick layer and no water, sweat, or rubbing.

💥 The Real Mind-Bender?
SPF isn’t a linear scale — it’s a curve.

Here’s how much UVB radiation gets blocked:

SPF 15 = ~93%

SPF 30 = ~97%

SPF 50 = ~98%

SPF 100 = ~99%

So SPF 100 isn’t twice the protection of SPF 50 — it’s just 1% more UVB filtered out.

😵 Why It’s Confusing:
We assume bigger number = massively better, but the gains are marginal.

SPF only tells you about UVB, not UVA (the rays that age skin and increase cancer risk).

People apply way too little—most people apply 25-50% of the recommended amount.

Most people also don’t reapply every 2 hours, which makes even SPF 100 pretty useless.

✅ What Actually Matters:
Use SPF 30 or higher—but apply a thick, even layer (think shot-glass amount for the body, nickel-sized blob for face).

Reapply every 2 hours, or after swimming/sweating.

Combine with UPF clothing, shade, and timing your sun exposure.

🌞 Bottom line? SPF is useful, but application and habits matter more than the number on the bottle. Don’t get lulled into thinking SPF 100 makes you invincible.

One treatment. Any skin type. No downtime. ✨

Sofwave uses FDA-approved ultrasound technology to tighten, lift, and smooth — all while you go about your day. It can treat the neck, jawline, brows, arms, cellulite, and even acne scars.

How does it work?
Ultrasound energy delivers heat into the mid-dermis, stimulating your skin to produce new collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid. You’ll see some immediate tightening, with full results building over the next 3 months. And it’s safe for the skin’s surface, nerves, fat, and fillers.
