Low-Cost Counseling Openings This January

We’re excited to welcome new clients starting January 12th! Our counseling center will have 19 counselors-in-training available to provide low-cost, high-quality counseling services.

Please note:
• We return calls during business hours, Monday–Thursday.
• Our clinic will be closed December 19th–January 11th for winter break. All calls and inquiries will be returned once we reopen on Monday, January 12th.

My name is Liz(she/her). I am a counselor in training at the ISU Meridian Counseling Clinic. I am pursuing this career path because I understand the complexities of life and how much it helps to have a safe, non-judgmental space to process and work through them. My view of counseling is that it is a collaborative effort. As your counselor, we will work together to help you gain insight and understanding about the current challenges you are facing. This can be done by evaluating past experiences, relationships, and lifestyles to determine what aspects aren’t working and may need adjustments. My name is Gretchen (she/her) and I’m glad that you found us. During my seventeen-year career as a high school educator, I came to understand the profound importance of mental health. Currently, I’m a Counselor in Training here at Idaho State University and endeavor to provide my clients with unconditional positive regard and offer a safe space to explore and heal.
It’s hard to know which identities to share with you that might be helpful: I’m a woman, student, wife, lifelong Idahoan, sister, and daughter. I have a master’s degree in literature, enjoy exploring our high desert on my gravel bike, and can often be found plucking the banjo on my front porch. I’m LGBTQIA2S+ affirming, BIPOC allied, and have a burgeoning interest in grief and loss. I provide in-person sessions and telehealth, and I work with adults, children, and teens.
I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars

My name is Kenny (he/him), and I am a Counselor in Training at Idaho State University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. I obtained my B.S. from Boise State University with a minor in the Spanish Language. I view each client as a unique individual and realize that no matter what their presenting concerns are, their life experience is distinctly their own. I believe we each can discover the answers to the concerns and problems that trouble us. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to understand better and resolve the challenges you face.
