Cottonwood Creek was glad to be part of the Stay 2026 event hosted by Connection is the Cure. Our Community Liaison, Ethan, connected with community members at our booth to share more about our hospital and outpatient programs.

In addition, Dr. David Kent joined the event with a booth promoting his new book, Why Me? The Brain on Tilt, sparking thoughtful conversations around mental health, the brain, and recovery.

We appreciate opportunities like this to engage with the community and support continued dialogue around mental wellness.

We are excited to introduce our new Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program, now available at Cottonwood Creek Behavioral Hospital.

This program is designed for adolescents who may need more support than weekly therapy alone can provide, while still allowing them to remain connected to home, school, and family. Care is provided in a structured, hospital based setting during the afternoon hours without requiring overnight stays.

The Adolescent PHP serves individuals ages 12 to 17 and meets Monday through Friday from 2 to 7 p.m. Our team works closely with families to support each adolescent’s needs and overall well being while helping them continue their daily routines.

At Cottonwood Creek Behavioral Hospital, decisions about ECT are guided by an experienced clinical team that carefully evaluates each individual’s needs. Treatment plans are thoughtfully developed and closely monitored to support safety, effectiveness, and long-term stability.

For many individuals, ECT becomes a turning point that restores stability, energy, and quality of life.

Some patients may experience short-term memory changes during an ECT treatment series, most often related to events close to treatment sessions. For many individuals, these effects are temporary and tend to improve within weeks after treatment is complete.

At Cottonwood Creek Behavioral Hospital, our experienced care team takes a personalized approach to ECT. We carefully consider electrode placement and closely monitor each patient’s progress to support comfort, safety, and effective outcomes throughout care.

Last week, Cottonwood Creek had the opportunity to host a book signing event for our psychiatrist, Dr. David Kent, author of Why Me? The Brain on Tilt.

The evening brought together a meaningful mix of staff, community partners, and patients, creating space for conversation, connection, and shared understanding around mental health and the brain’s response to stress, trauma, and illness.

We’re grateful to Dr. Kent for sharing his work and insights, and to everyone who joined us to support thoughtful dialogue and continued learning in behavioral health.

Please join us in celebrating Alex, our Employee of the Month!

Alex is being recognized for consistently living out our core values with both patients and teammates. With a caring, empathetic approach, Alex goes above and beyond to ensure every patient feels safe, supported, and receives the quality care they deserve. A dependable member of our Nursing team, Alex’s positive attitude makes a meaningful difference every day.

Thank you, Alex, for all that you do for your team and the people we serve.

And a big congratulations to our Pet of the Month, Walker!

Walker is being recognized for keeping a close watch on his human sisters, having enough energy to rival the Energizer Bunny, and reminding us all that a little head scratch and acknowledgment can go a long way.

Thank you, Walker, for bringing joy, energy, and plenty of smiles to your family — we’re lucky to have you as part of our extended Oceans family! 💙
