Today marks one year since Deputy Tobin Bolter was tragically shot during a traffic stop.

In his memory, our deputies will wear mourning bands on their badges today and tomorrow. This black band is a solemn sign of respect and remembrance for those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

Deputies will also wear mourning bands on May 8, when Deputy Bolter’s name will be formally added to the Idaho Peace Officer Memorial Wall during IPOM's annual memorial ceremony. In addition, mourning bands will be worn on May 15 for National Peace Officer Memorial Day, a day that honors all fallen officers across the country.
