Reflection is an important part of our daily work.

As a health system, we regularly join in reflections as a way to center ourselves, enhance the quality of care provided to patients, and continuously develop as healthcare professionals.

Yesterday, we had the privilege of joining together to reflect on, celebrate, and bless the new Nampa Family Medicine Residency program and clinic.

The program, created in partnership with Mountain States Institute for Graduate Medical Education and Research (MSI), is designed to address provider shortages and improve long-term access to care in the Treasure Valley.

Meet Melissa, a compassionate and dedicated RMA who’s been part of the Saint Alphonsus family for 6 years! Her journey has been filled with growth, leadership, and heartfelt moments that make her love what she does.

“The culture at Saint Alphonsus is top notch. I left for a short time to work at another health system in the area and was so glad to come back - it was like coming home.”

Melissa’s passion for patient care and mentoring shines through in everything she does. One of her proudest moments? Becoming Assistant Clinical Lead and helping train other MAs while still connecting with patients and working alongside amazing doctors.

Outside of work, Melissa enjoys camping, exploring Idaho’s beauty, spending time with her husband and kids, and cheering on her favorite football and baseball teams!

Thank you, Melissa, for your dedication and for being a true example of the heart behind Saint Alphonsus ❤

The final gate has swung, the last bull has bucked, and the summer rodeo season has officially come to a close.

And what a way to end it with the CNR Strong Night at Caldwell Night Rodeo lighting up the arena and our hearts.

This powerful evening didn’t just mark the end of a thrilling season—it stood as a tribute to courage and community. With 100% of proceeds going to support those impacted by cancer, CNR Strong Night reminded us that the true strength of the rodeo lies in the people behind it.

Thank you to everyone who made this summer unforgettable. From Caldwell to Nampa and Baker City to Ontario, and all the dusty trails in between, your support made a difference.

Until next season!

Rodeos aren't just about bucking broncs. At Saint Alphonsus, they were about bucking cancer.

Earlier this month, we proudly sponsored the Owyhee County Rodeo, joining them for a meaningful night under the lights with Kick Cancer Night.

Thanks to the generosity of our community and partners, donations from the night will support the Saint Alphonsus Breast Care Center with 100% going toward screening mammograms for women and men who otherwise cannot afford them.

Thank you to the Homedale community for showing up and standing strong in the fight against cancer!

Saint Alphonsus is grateful for our continuing partnership with Ada County Paramedics in providing Ride-Along & Systems Tour experiences for local, state, and federal leaders, along with our Saint Alphonsus leaders, like Corey Surber, who proudly attended a ride-along last week.

It is tremendously impactful for leaders to witness first-hand the excellent care Ada County Paramedics provides across Ada County, the challenges they face, their coordination with other first responder agencies, and their teamwork with our clinical teams at Saint Alphonsus.

Together we work to ensure timely, efficient, top-notch, compassionate care for all.
