Big thank you to one of our hospice partners, Alpha Omega, for bringing our nursing staff some lunch! Jolie is always willing to come out, bring us food, and give us a little TEDTalk.

We are so grateful for all of the connections and partners we have in providing the best care for our residents from wound care, hospice, physicians, specialists, in-house x-rays, etc.

The ideal candidate will oversee the business office operations, ensuring financial, administrative, and billing functions run smoothly, while maintaining a focus on service excellence for both our residents and staff.
Position Overview:
The Business Office Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day business and financial operations of the facility. The Business Office Manager will work closely with the leadership team to maintain efficient and accurate financial records, ensuring both residents and families have a positive experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the billing and collections process, including insurance verification, claims submissions, and follow-ups.
Act as a liaison between the nursing home and residents/families for billing inquiries, payment arrangements, and insurance-related concerns.
Maintain filing systems for financial and resident documents in accordance with privacy and security standards.
Support the facility leadership in administrative tasks and projects.
Qualifications:
Familiarity with healthcare billing systems, insurance verification, and Medicare/Medicaid regulations helpful
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion and confidentiality.
Detail-oriented with a strong ability to solve problems and manage time effectively.

About Us:
Merkel Nursing Home is a compassionate, resident-centered skilled nursing facility dedicated to providing high-quality care and personalized services that enhance the lives of our residents. We currently have an opening for a Certified Dietary Manager to lead our dietary team in ensuring residents receive nutritious, well-balanced meals that meet their care plans and regulatory requirements.
Position Summary:
As a Certified Dietary Manager, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the dietary department. This includes supervising dietary staff, ensuring compliance with nutritional standards and sanitation regulations, and collaborating with clinical teams to meet the individual dietary needs of each resident.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations of the dietary department, including meal preparation and service.
Ensure meals meet residents' nutritional needs, physician orders, and regulatory guidelines.
Supervise, schedule, and train dietary staff to maintain a high level of performance and customer service.
Manage inventory and order food, supplies, and equipment within budgetary constraints.
Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including food safety and sanitation standards.
Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary teams to accommodate special diets and resident preferences.
Conduct regular kitchen inspections and audits to ensure cleanliness and regulatory compliance.
Participate in care plan meetings and contribute to the development of residents' nutritional care plans.
Requirements:
Certified Dietary Manager credential required; must be in good standing with the Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals.
Strong knowledge of modified diets, food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
Effective leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage a team and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
