Merkel Nursing Home is a compassionate, resident-centered skilled nursing facility dedicated to providing high-quality care and personalized services that enhance the lives of our residents. We currently have an opening for a Certified Dietary Manager to lead our dietary team in ensuring residents receive nutritious, well-balanced meals that meet their care plans and regulatory requirements.
Position Summary:
As a Certified Dietary Manager, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the dietary department. This includes supervising dietary staff, ensuring compliance with nutritional standards and sanitation regulations, and collaborating with clinical teams to meet the individual dietary needs of each resident.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations of the dietary department, including meal preparation and service.
Ensure meals meet residents' nutritional needs, physician orders, and regulatory guidelines.
Supervise, schedule, and train dietary staff to maintain a high level of performance and customer service.
Manage inventory and order food, supplies, and equipment within budgetary constraints.
Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including food safety and sanitation standards.
Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary teams to accommodate special diets and resident preferences.
Conduct regular kitchen inspections and audits to ensure cleanliness and regulatory compliance.
Participate in care plan meetings and contribute to the development of residents' nutritional care plans.
Requirements:
Certified Dietary Manager credential required; must be in good standing with the Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals.
Strong knowledge of modified diets, food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
Effective leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage a team and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
