Is this all goofy and in jest? Yes.

Is every single “Evil Kermit” quote something I’ve heard from a patient before? Also, yes.

If you’ve believed any of these, so yourself a favor and forget about them forever.

You can enjoy moving again. There’s a way back to the things you love doing.

Don’t listen to Evil Emperor Kermit.

Honestly, hate talking $$$ but had a great quote from a great patient this past week that had me really pondering how it relates to our health and well-being.

Couldn’t think of a better investment.

Are you stuck in the avoidance cycle?

You get hurt…

So you rest…

Then you avoid the movement that caused it.

But as time goes on, your body gets weaker, your confidence drops…

And when you finally try to return?
Another flare-up.

And just like that, you’re caught in the Avoidance Pain Cycle 🔁

But pain doesn’t mean stop forever.
It means adapt, scale, and build back better.

If you want to do the things you love again, the way back to them is to actually perform them. Without doing that, of course your body flares again. Because you taught it to avoid that activity.

This obviously needs to be done wisely. But the fact remains, it NEEDS to be done.

Avoidance is almost never the answer.

The healing is in the doing.

Where are you at on this cycle right now?

A $6,000 mattress.
That was the “solution” to years of neck and back pain.

And I get it…truly…when you’re desperate for relief, anything that promises rest, recovery, or comfort feels worth it.

But here’s the truth:
Pain doesn’t usually come from your mattress.
And it doesn’t go away just because you bought something.

Pain is more complex than that.
And healing requires more than a purchase, it requires a process.

One that rebuilds your strength, rewires your relationship with pain, and helps you move with confidence again.

That’s what actually works.
And that’s exactly what I get to do with my patients day in and day out.

If you’ve been stuck in the cycle of bandaid fixes and are ready to rebuild, I’m ready to help you.

Love being able to work with people like Bryan.

Always brought a great attitude and a lot of curiosity about how to take care of himself best and continue living (and loving) his life in the midst of pain. Which he did!!! 💪

It’s never about just getting rid of pain. It’s always about making you a more confident and empowered human being for the activities you love in life.

Love working alongside people like Bryan!

A fresh batch of “things I commonly hear” from patients and random conversations.

The more conversations I have, the more I see the gravity of how narratives in people’s heads influence their pain cycle.

Negative narratives, once a harmless thought, have compounded enough into self-fulfilling prophecies.

When you think of your pain, and think “I can’t” - start to turn that into “how can I?”

I can’t > How can I?

That narrative switch can open a lot of doors. Don’t underestimate it.

And for the love of all that is holy, quit bargain shopping for your health. Quality is a real thing in healthcare, and unfortunately, you often get what you pay for.

Are you a “boom-and-bust” type of person when dealing with pain? 🤔

Here’s what it looks like when someone follows the “boom-and-bust” cycle:

Boom: Pushing too hard, too fast after resting for too long, which leads to a flare-up.

Bust: Taking too much time off, avoiding activity too rigidly, and becoming deconditioned.

The problem? 👉 When they feel ready to try again, they jump back in at the same intensity as before (or just slightly less). But because they’ve created such a big “valley” in their progress, it’s still too much, too soon. This leads to another flare-up, and the cycle starts all over again: up, down, up, down. The trajectory overall, leading downward overtime into greater pain or injury.

🔑 The key to breaking this pattern is learning how to scale activity to tolerance and understanding how modifiable and scalable physical stressors can be.

When we teach this, we dedicate time to helping you build this skill—so you can stop the boom-and-bust cycle for good 💪
