Start the day off strong with a 🧠 brainy breakfast. A brainy breakfast has a combination of complex carbs and protein. A complex carb is packed with fiber, protein, and fat. This will provide you and your kids with a steady supply of fuel so you can do your best at school 📚🍎and work! 🙌💪

For this breakfast, you’ll need:
🥚 1 egg
🍞 1 piece of whole grain bread
🥑 ½ avocado
🥬 handful of fresh greens such as arugula, spinach, or chard
🧂pinch of salt and pepper
🌶 Pepper Flakes - Optional

Crack the egg into a small dish and set it aside while the water is warming up
Bring a pot of water to boil. Turn off the heat and carefully drop the egg into the water. Cover the pot and poach for 4 minutes
Toast the bread and smash avocado and season to taste with salt and pepper. Add a handful of greens
Using a slotted spoon remove the poached egg, and let drain for a second on a paper towel.
Add the poached egg, and pepper flakes for a kick end enjoy!

Do you need some breakfast inspo for a midweek pick-me-up? What about one of my favorite quick & easy avocado toast recipes?

Whole Grain Avocado Toast w/ arugula 🥑🤤

This is perfect for breakfast, lunch, or a quick snack. It has lots of protein to keep you focused all day long! 💪

You need:
🍞 1 slice of whole-grain bread
🥑 ½ small avocado
🥬 ½ cup arugula
🧀 2 tbsp. cream cheese or feta cheese
🎃 1 tbsp. pumpkin seeds
🌰 ½ tsp. sesame seeds
🤌 Pinch of red pepper flakes
🧂 Pinch of black pepper

How to make it:
1. Toast bread
2. Spread avocado on toast; season with pepper & red pepper flakes. Top with arugula.
3. Toast pumpkin seeds. I recommend doing this the night before or a few days ahead of time and keeping them in a Ziploc bag. They make a great and healthy snack on their own or in addition to salads, yogurts, or oatmeal.
4. Top the toast with pumpkin seeds and sesame seeds. Enjoy it!

Check out Natalie’s amazing transformation journey: “When we started this journey, my biggest motivation was to be supportive of my husband. I figured I could learn a thing or two an lose some weight in the process. In the last 6 weeks, I have learned quite a bit about myself I really didn't want to admit. The Natalie on the left slept all the time, hated taking that picture and had aching hips and feet already at 38 years old. The Natalie on the right still has a long way to go, but I will do it without aching hips, without being afraid of pictures, without needing to nap with my son everyday, and with new healthy habits! “Here I am (left) the first day I started my healthy lifestyle program. Here I am (right) maintaining what I accomplished on the program. I know I actually look younger AND I actually feel younger.

Recipe 👇👇👇👇

■ 1 Banana🍌
■ 1 cup Kale, fresh🥬
■ ½ cup Pineapple 🍍
■ 1 cup Strawberries 🍓
■ 1 cup water 💦
■ Optional toppings: h**p seeds and sunflower seeds
