In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), there's a principle called "treating winter diseases in summer" (冬病夏治), which means using the warmth and abundant Yang energy of summer to address chronic conditions that worsen in winter, such as asthma, arthritis, and allergies. Summer is the ideal time to boost Yang energy, strengthen the body's defenses, balance internal energy, and prevent cold-related illnesses from flaring up in colder months.

Do you know lots of high-impact athletes are beginning to incorporate acupuncture to enhance their performance?

High-impact athletes push their bodies to the limit — and recovery, precision, and endurance are critical. Acupuncture can help by reducing inflammation, improving circulation, accelerating recovery, and optimizing muscle function.

“Studies have shown that acupuncture can enhance muscle activation and improve the body’s ability to generate explosive power…..
It has also been shown that acupuncture increases the total amount of activated myosin adenosine triphosphate, and the rate of adenosine triphosphate release. Myosin is a protein that converts energy in the form of adenosine triphosphate, energy at the cellular level, into mechanical energy, thereby generating enhanced force and movement…”

Whether you're training hard or competing at the top level, acupuncture is a powerful tool to keep you performing at your best.

If you're dealing with TMJ (temporomandibular joint) discomfort or chronic teeth grinding (bruxism), acupuncture may offer a natural, effective path to relief. By targeting specific points along the jaw, neck, and head, acupuncture can help relax tense muscles, improve circulation, and reduce inflammation—addressing both the symptoms and the root causes of jaw tension and clenching.
Many patients report reduced jaw pain, fewer headaches, and an overall improvement in sleep and stress levels after a series of treatments. If you've been struggling with TMJ or teeth gripping, acupuncture might be a gentle, drug-free solution worth exploring.
Feel free to reach out if you have questions or want to learn more about how acupuncture can support your healing.

Many cancer survivors live with a constant fear of recurrence, along with ongoing physical and emotional challenges. Chinese medicine wellness practices—such as acupuncture, herbal therapy, and gentle movement like Tai Chi and Qi Gong—can offer valuable support. These holistic approaches may help reduce anxiety, improve energy and sleep, and support overall well-being. If you're interested in exploring how this can complement conventional care, I’d be happy to share more information or connect you with resources.

Morton’s Syndrome (Morton’s Neuroma) is a painful condition affecting the ball of the foot, usually between the third and fourth toes. It’s caused by inflammation of the plantar nerve and can lead to sharp, burning pain, tingling, or numbness.

The symptoms often resemble capsulitis, which is inflammation of the toe joint ligaments, often from activities that overly bend the toes, like sprinting or gardening.
Morton’s neuroma is more common in women—often due to tight shoes—and typically affects people aged 40 to 60. While the exact cause is unclear, combining standard treatments with acupuncture, supplements, and lifestyle changes can improve outcomes.

Please contact us if you need help on Morton’s syndrome.

Seasonal changes—especially the transition into Spring—can impact blood pressure. Do you know that
“high systolic BP and normal diastolic BP could be due to constriction in the neck area, stenosis of the spine or the carotid arteries.
High systolic BP and low diastolic BP could be a heart valve problem with blood regurgitation.
Low systolic BP and low diastolic BP could be the patient in danger of suffering a stroke because the pressure outside of the blood vessels (in the connective tissue) is higher than the pressure inside the blood vessel.
Normal systolic BP and high diastolic BP could be the heart is weak and the patient may suffer from congestive heart failure.”
Always consult with your primary care physicians. Also TCM offers a holistic approach to helping blood pressure with focusing on balance and harmony within the body. Techniques like acupuncture, herbal remedies, and Qi Gong can help regulate blood flow and reduce stress, potentially stabilizing blood pressure naturally.

Managing Spring Allergies with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) 🌿🌸

Spring brings blooming flowers but also seasonal allergies. According to TCM, allergies are often linked to weak Wei Qi (defensive energy) and imbalances in the Lungs, Spleen, and Liver. Here are some natural ways to ease symptoms:

🍵 Herbal Support – Try chrysanthemum, honeysuckle, and astragalus tea to soothe symptoms and strengthen immunity.
🥗 Dietary Adjustments – Avoid cold, raw, and greasy foods. Eat warming, dampness-reducing foods like ginger, garlic, and coix seed to support digestion and immunity.
💆 Acupressure & Moxibustion – Stimulate Yingxiang (LI20, beside the nose) and Hegu (LI4, hand) to relieve nasal congestion. Moxibustion on Zusanli (ST36) can boost overall resistance.
🧘 Gentle Movement – Tai Chi, Qi Gong, Meditation, or deep breathing exercises can help regulate Qi flow and strengthen the Lungs.
🌞 Lifestyle Tips – Keep windows closed on high pollen days, wear a mask when outdoors, and rinse your nose with warm saline water to clear allergens.

Stay balanced and enjoy spring in good health!

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Spring Wellness Guide

Spring is a season of renewal, with rising Yang energy, making it the perfect time to nourish the body and strengthen immunity. According to TCM, spring wellness focuses on liver care, boosting Yang energy, and dispelling dampness.
🌿 Dietary Adjustments
Eat foods that nourish the liver, such as goji berries, red dates, spinach, and Chinese yam.
Avoid greasy and raw foods; drink ginger and red date tea or chrysanthemum tea to help regulate the body.
🧘 Emotional Well-being
Spring corresponds to the Wood element, which is linked to the liver. Excess anger can harm the liver, so maintaining a calm and positive mood is essential.
Gentle exercises like Tai Chi and Baduanjin (Eight Brocades) help stretch the body and support the rising Yang energy.
🌞 Lifestyle Adjustments
Go to bed early and wake up early to align with the natural rhythm of spring.
Spend more time outdoors, enjoy the sunshine, and engage in light activities to promote blood circulation and boost immunity.
💆 Dispelling Dampness & Detoxification
Spring tends to bring dampness, which can weaken digestion. Incorporate foods like coix seed, dried tangerine peel, and ginger to strengthen the spleen and dispel dampness.
Moxibustion on acupuncture points like Guanyuan (CV4) and Zusanli (ST36) can help warm the body, support digestion, and enhance overall vitality.

By embracing the season’s energy and following these TCM wellness principles, you can cultivate health and vitality throughout spring!
