Today we are celebrating someone very special, our 2025 Member of the Year, Ms. Clara who is turning 83 years young today!

Ms. Clara is truly the heart of our center. Her warmth, kindness, and beautiful spirit brighten every room she walks into. Whether she’s sharing a smile, encouraging a friend, or joining in on activities, Ms. Clara brings so much joy and love to everyone around her.

We are so grateful to have such an incredible member as part of the Active Day Merrillville family. Today we celebrate not only her birthday, but the wonderful energy and happiness she brings to our center every single day.

🧇💙 Active Day Merrillville Out in the Community! 💙🧇

Active Day Merrillville is proud to be attending the Crossroads Kiwanis Waffle Breakfast today at the Dean and Barbara White Community Center! This wonderful event brings the community together for a delicious breakfast while supporting several important local programs.

Stop by, say hello, and enjoy some amazing waffles while supporting a great cause. We love being part of events that help strengthen and give back to our community.

🍪 Happy National Oreo Cookie Day! 🍪

What better way to celebrate than with a classic favorite! We’re especially excited because we now have Zero Sugar Double Stuf Oreos available at the center for everyone to enjoy.

It’s always fun bringing in treats that our members love while still offering options that fit different dietary needs. We can’t wait to make fun snacks and treats with them, or just enjoy them with a classic glass of cold milk!🥛

Today we celebrate the incredible team that makes Active Day Merrillville such a special place. Every single day our staff goes above and beyond to provide care, kindness, laughter, and support to our members and their families.

From helping with activities and meals, to offering a listening ear, sharing smiles, transporting our members and making sure everyone feels safe and valued, your dedication does not go unnoticed. It takes a truly compassionate group of people to create the welcoming, joyful environment we have here at our center.

🥖🧀 Charcuterie Fun at Active Day Merrillville! 🍇🥨

Today our members got to play chef and build their own mini charcuterie boards! Everyone enjoyed choosing from a delicious assortment of ham, prosciutto, salami, cheddar cheese, pretzels, and fresh grapes to create their own tasty combinations.

Not only was it a great snack, but it was also a fun and engaging activity that encouraged creativity and conversation. Members had a great time putting together their plates, sharing laughs, and enjoying their snacks together.

Moments like these remind us that sometimes the simplest activities like good food, good company, and a little creativity, can make for a wonderful day at the center.

We love seeing our members smile while trying something new! 💚

🎩❤️ Cat in the Hat Day at Active Day Merrillville! ❤️🎩

We had so much fun celebrating Cat in the Hat Day with a little creativity and a lot of smiles! Our members enjoyed coloring, cutting, and putting together their very own Cat in the Hat crafts.

From start to finish, everyone added their own special touch, and the results were absolutely wonderful. We love activities that bring out imagination, spark conversation, and give our members a chance to show off their artistic side.

A new month is here, and Active Day Merrillville is officially in bloom! We are stepping into spring with excitement, gratitude, and so much to look forward to! March is all about growth, renewal, and celebrating the wonderful community we share every day.🌼

Spring is a time for growth, renewal, and fresh beginnings and we are so excited to continue growing, thriving, and celebrating together. We are so excited for our Brunch in Bloom on March 21st with our community partners. From daily laughs during trivia and bingo to meaningful visits like Petland and the Lake County Public Library, every day brings something special. Our members continue to shine, and we are so grateful to grow alongside them.

Here’s to a month full of blooming friendships, joyful memories, and brighter days ahead. 🌷💚

💌❤️ That’s a wrap on Hearts Across America! ❤️💌

It’s official — Active Day Merrillville is loved from Canada to Hawaii! 🌎

Thank you to everyone who mailed or emailed Valentines to our center. Our members absolutely loved receiving cards from so many different states, and even a different country! Seeing their smiles as they opened each piece of mail was truly heartwarming.

This project reminds us how connected we all are, no matter the distance.

We’re so excited to keep the fun going next month with Shamrockin’ Across The Globe! ☘️ Stay tuned!
