Many families carry a quiet wish that they had saved more memories before losing someone they love. Often there simply wasn’t enough time.
Through legacy projects led by our volunteers, those stories don’t have to be lost. One simple yet meaningful approach was recently employed by a volunteer after meeting with a patient for two weeks—jar journaling.
Jar journaling involves writing down memories, reflections, and answers to thoughtful questions on small slips of paper and collecting them in a jar. With each note, a piece of a life is preserved. Over time, the jar fills with moments, stories, and wisdom that families can return to again and again.
Sometimes it’s as simple as a jar, a few handwritten notes, and time spent listening, but the impact lasts for generations. Because every life has a story worth saving. 💙
