A Warm Welcome and a Lasting Dedication of Central Park at Florida Memorial Gardens Under a golden autumn sky and the gentle rustle of Florida’s fall breeze, the Rockledge community gathered this Thursday, October 9, 2025 to celebrate the grand opening of Central Park at Florida Memorial Garden, a space designed to honor, reflect, and connect.
Hosted by a dedicated team Sharon Harvey (GM), Ami Fultz (ASM), Sonia Scott (SD), and Renada Washington (MD), the ribbon cutting ceremony was a poignant moment for our families. The event marked not just the unveiling of a new garden, but the beginning of a new chapter in Florida Memorial Gardens legacy of remembrance and unity.
Sharon Harvey opened the ceremony with heartfelt words, welcoming families and guests with grace and gratitude. Her message set the tone for a day filled with emotion and celebration.
Jeff Oliver, a longtime leader for SCI, stepped forward to formally dedicating the new garden to the families of Rockledge. “This garden is for you,” he said, “a place to remember, to heal, and to grow together.”
Council member Duane Daski addressed the crowd with a reminder of the park’s significance. “With Central Park you accomplished what you set out to do.” he said. “The garden provides comfort and peaceful feeling.”
Closing the ceremony with energy and enthusiasm, Ami Fultz invited families to enjoy the day with a slice of New York Pizza and a guided tour of the new park. Her call to action was met with smiles and laughter as guests began exploring the winding paths, memorial spaces, and vibrant landscaping that make Central Park a true gem.
As the ribbon fluttered to the ground and dragonflies played among the flowerbeds, it was clear that Central Park is more than a garden—it’s a living tribute to the families of Rockledge. With every step, every story shared, and every moment of quiet reflection, the park promises to be a place where memories bloom and community thrives.
