We are looking for a self-motivated worker who would like to become a part of our family at our small business. Your main responsibility will be to manufacture and assemble products (primarily made of foam and wood) for children with disabilities. You must be organized and detail oriented. Experience in woodworking preferred. Some experience with packaging/shipping product is a plus. We are located in Merton, WI.
**FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE - Make your own schedule - Approx 8 - 15 hours a week. Possibly the ideal position for a motivated retiree. :)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Interpret drawings, prints and Bills of Material in order to assemble products
* Use hand tools and woodworking machines (table saw, router, etc) to surface, cut, and shape lumber
* Plan and implement the assembly or sub-assembly process by reading and understanding set-up sheets, work orders, drawings or blueprints and gathers necessary materials and tools to complete order.
* Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures.
REQUIREMENTS:
* Demonstrated ability in basic mathematical computations and the ability to accurately use a tape measure and basic hand tools
* Possess an enthusiastic, energetic, self-motivated, and detail-oriented approach towards work and all work projects.
* Multi-task and change from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure.
* Demonstrated ability to operate hand tools
*Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
* Ability to read and understand simple diagrams or blueprints
* High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
* Willing to do prolonged standing.
* One to two years relevant experience in woodworking preferred.
* Experience packaging/shipping a plus but not required.
* Must be willing to submit to a Drug Screen.
