These days many people are wearing masks or other face coverings for safety. We at the AFA Balance and Hearing Institute would like to remind you to take extra caution with your hearing aids while removing your mask and/or glasses. Hearing aid manufacturers have noted an increase in reports of lost hearing aids due to wearing masks. While most hearing aid companies will replace a device in-warranty they are a one-time replacement with a deductible. Hearing aid losses may be reduced if users utilize geotagging capabilities that are managed by a free app on your phone. This means that your phone may be able to tell you the last place that the hearing aids were turned on and connected to the phone. Some hearing aids that are no older than 3 years may have this feature. Most manufacturer-specific information is available online, however if you need any guidance please reach out and we can help.
