Happy Women's Health Month!

Most hormone conversations focus on estrogen alone. But progesterone is doing just as much work and when the ratio between these two falls out of balance, that's when symptoms take over.

Heavy periods, poor sleep, breast tenderness, anxiety, and bloating are often not random. They're a message that both hormones need attention together.

Compounding gives providers the flexibility to prescribe precisely: the right ratio, the right delivery method, and the ability to adjust as the body changes. That's what personalized hormone care looks like in practice.

Swipe through to understand how estrogen and progesterone work together and why both sides of the equation matter for your care.

April was a busy month for questions and we loved it.

Bloodwork before peptides, hormone phases, PlasmaXchange, compound batch variation — people are asking the right things, and that's what we're here for.

If you dropped a comment this month or thought of something after the fact, leave it below. We read everything and respond directly.

And if you've been thinking about starting a conversation about compounding, hormones, peptides, or PlasmaXchange, this is a good place to start.

Brain fog gets dismissed a lot. Too much stress, not enough sleep, maybe just aging. But there may be more to the picture.

Research in aging neuroscience has suggested that inflammatory proteins circulating in the plasma may be associated with changes in cognitive function over time. The MDL Brain protocol from
MDLifespan uses Therapeutic Plasma Exchange to address this at the circulatory level filtering the plasma and replacing it with a clean, albumin-based solution.

It's not a generic infusion. It's a structured protocol with physician-led intake and individualized preparation. That's why it's offered here at a compounding pharmacy, not a walk-in clinic.

If you're experiencing cognitive fatigue that hasn't been fully explained, or you're simply interested in proactive brain health support, the first step is a free consultation with the MDLifespan team.

That amber color is what plasma can look like when it carries a high load of accumulated compounds, inflammatory proteins, and environmental toxins.

During a PlasmaXchange session, this plasma is gently separated from your blood and replaced with a clean, pharmaceutical-grade albumin solution. The goal is to support the body's ability to clear what may have built up over time.

It is a calm, clinical process developed and overseen by the physician team at MDLifespan. But seeing it is one of the most common reasons people say they finally understood why they had been feeling the way they did.

We are proud to be connected to this work through our partnership with MDLifespan. If you are curious about what PlasmaXchange may involve and whether it could be a fit, their team offers a free consultation.

The honest difference between a compounding pharmacy and a chain pharmacy isn't about quality, it's about what's possible.

A commercial pharmacy fills from a catalog. Doses are fixed. Delivery forms are fixed. Ingredients are fixed. For most people with standard prescriptions, that works perfectly well.

A compounding pharmacy formulates from scratch. So if you need a lower dose than what's manufactured, a cream instead of a pill, a version without a dye your body doesn't tolerate, or a medication that's simply been discontinued, we may be able to build it.

We're not a replacement for your regular pharmacy. We're the option that exists when the standard one doesn't fit.

Since 2002, we've been filling the prescriptions that didn't have another answer in Mesa. If you've been told something can't be filled, it's worth a conversation.

Stress Awareness Month usually comes with tips about rest and breathing. That's not nothing, but at the pharmacy level we're more interested in what stress may actually be doing inside the body.

Cortisol follows a curve throughout the day. It should peak in the morning and taper off by evening. When that pattern gets disrupted, and a 4-point salivary test can show this, it may show up as fatigue, poor sleep, mood changes, or hormones that don't respond as expected.

The adrenal glands are also a secondary source of progesterone and DHEA. So when the stress axis is out of range, it can affect the hormone picture too, especially during perimenopause.

This is exactly the kind of thing a pharmacist and provider can work through together when a protocol isn't performing the way it should.

Most people have heard of plasma exchange. Fewer know what makes the Advanced Serial version different.

Standard TPE is a single session. The PlasmaXchange protocol from MDLifespan is designed as a comprehensive, multi-session approach: 3 to 5 sequenced TPE sessions, paired with targeted supplementation, personalized avoidance training, and regenerative therapy support.

It is not just a procedure. It is a physician-led protocol built around what your body may need and MDLifespan's team handles everything from intake to protocol design.

We are proud to share this with our Mesa community through our partnership with MDLifespan. A free consultation with their team is the best place to start if you want to understand whether this protocol may be appropriate for your situation.

Personalized medicine gets talked about like it's new. For compounding pharmacies, it's been the whole point since day one.

Every compound we fill is built for one person. A specific dose, a specific delivery form, ingredients matched to that individual's needs and sensitivities. Not a population average but an actual person with an actual prescription.

As more providers move into precision care: hormone optimization, peptide therapy, integrative protocols, compounding may be the clinical infrastructure that makes that kind of prescribing possible.

Our latest blog explores what this looks like in practice here in Mesa and why we think this approach is only going to become more relevant.

Earth Month brings a lot of conversation about what's in the environment. We think it's equally worth asking what may already be in the body from years of everyday environmental exposure.

Published, peer-reviewed research has identified measurable levels of compounds like PFAS, heavy metals, BPA, and microplastics in human blood and tissue. Chronic low-level exposure has been associated in the scientific literature with markers of inflammatory and hormonal imbalance. This is documented, ongoing science.

The MDL Toxin protocol from MDLifespan uses Therapeutic Plasma Exchange to support the body's natural processes in addressing what may have accumulated in the plasma over time. Plasma is gently filtered through an FDA-approved apheresis system and replaced with a pharmaceutical-grade albumin solution, all under physician oversight.

This protocol is available here in Mesa at RxFormulations. If you'd like to understand whether it may be a fit for your wellness goals, a free consultation with MDLifespan is a great place to start.

One of the most common reasons a compounding referral gets delayed isn't the pharmacy, it's the information that comes with the script.

When we receive a prescription without the delivery form, the patient's known sensitivities, or the specific strength your patient needs, we have to pause and call before we fill. That creates a lag for your patient and extra back-and-forth for your office.

When we have the full picture upfront, we can fill accurately and flag anything before it ever goes out.

We've been working alongside Mesa-area providers since 2002, and clear communication has always been the foundation of that.

If you'd like to set up a direct line with our team, we're easy to reach.

As pharmacists and providers ourselves, we know the frustration of patients who have tried everything and still are not getting better.

That is exactly why we are sharing this.

Our partners at MDLifespan are hosting a free live physician webinar on April 24th, led by their founder and Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Paul Savage.

In just 60 minutes, Dr. Savage will walk through the clinical evidence linking toxin burden to unresolved patient outcomes, how the Advanced Serial TPE protocol works and what the biomarker data shows, and a referral model that supports your patients without competing with your existing practice or patient relationships.

This is not a sales pitch. It is an education session built for providers who want answers for the patients that have fallen through the cracks.

Free. Live. Open to physicians and healthcare providers nationwide.

The provider webinar registration link is in our bio. Reserve your spot now.
