Anxiety in animals doesn’t always start in the mind—it often starts in the nervous system.
We recently had a dog who was typically very anxious both in our office and at home when company came over. High stress situations were overwhelming for him, and calming down was difficult.
Since being on consistent chiropractic care, we’ve seen a beautiful shift.
✨ He’s calmer
✨ More relaxed in stressful environments
✨ Better able to self-regulate
One key area we focus on with anxious patients is the atlas—the top vertebra of the spine. The atlas plays a major role in nervous system balance. When it’s restricted or misaligned, the body can stay stuck in fight-or-flight (sympathetic mode).
When the atlas is moving properly, it helps activate the parasympathetic nervous system—also known as “rest and digest.”
This is where healing happens.
A calm nervous system supports a calmer animal. 💙
And over time, consistent care can make a meaningful difference in an animal’s overall demeanor—not just how they move, but how they feel.
If your pet struggles with anxiety, tension, or stress responses, chiropractic may be an important piece of their wellness puzzle.
