What an awesome time at the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show!!
This was my first competition in about 12 years, and what a privilege it was to be back in the show ring! We competed against some amazingly talented riders and beautiful Arabian horses. There were definitely moments where we shook a lot of dust off too😅
It's so easy to be critical of difficult rides, but think of how those low moments and challenges make you a better rider, a more empathetic teammate, and a stronger person.
Here is where physical therapy can help you become a stronger and more balanced rider!
💫 Not only is it important to make sure our muscles have strength, but we need to make sure we have endurance to perform the actions required for riding and for the joints can move the way they need to!
If not, compensations will start and bad habits will form.
💫Mindset is key. Control what you can control and let go of the things you cannot. We can control our health by prioritizing healthy foods, sleep, recovery, mobility, strength, and endurance. We just have to WANT to take care of ourselves, just as much as we take care of our horses 🐴
Being a physical therapist who personally understands what competition requires, I am capable of providing a unique perspective to treating the body to keep up with equestrian demands.
