HAPPY NATIONAL FUN AT WORK DAY!
National Have Fun at Work Day (celebrated on the last Friday of January) is a great opportunity to boost morale, foster team bonding, and make the workplace more enjoyable.

Did you know......?

1. Happiness = More Productive: A study by the University of Oxford found that people who were happier at work were up to 13% more productive. If that isn’t a reason to celebrate National Fun at Work Day, I don’t know what is!

2. How Long?!: The average person spends 90,000 hours at work over their lifetime, which is equivalent to over 11 years of your life.

3. Happy Employees Means Higher Profits: It isn’t only the employees who have a better life when they enjoy work, it also equals higher profits for the company. More productive employees with lower turnover rates can result in a more successful company.

Here are 5 fun ideas to celebrate:

1. Office Olympics 🏅
Set up mini-games like chair races, paper airplane contests, or a desk obstacle course. Give out small prizes to winners.

2. Themed Dress-Up Day 🎭
Pick a fun theme (e.g., Pajama Day, Superhero Day, '80s Retro) and encourage employees to dress up.

3. Trivia or Game Show 🎤
Host a trivia contest (work-related or general) or a game show like "Jeopardy!" or "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?"

4. Desk Decoration Contest 🎨
Encourage employees to decorate their desks in a creative or silly way, with a prize for the best one.

5. Surprise Snack Bar 🍩
Set up a snack station with treats like popcorn, candy, or ice cream to brighten everyone's day.

🌍❤️ World AIDS Day Awareness - December 1, 2024 ❤️🌍 Today, we stand together in solidarity to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and honor those who have been affected by this disease. Let’s educate ourselves and others about prevention, testing, and treatment, and work to eliminate stigma surrounding HIV. 💡 Did You Know? 💡 Approximately 38 million people are living with HIV worldwide. With proper treatment and care, those living with HIV can lead long, healthy lives. This World AIDS Day, let’s commit to advocating for those affected, supporting research and education, and spreading compassion in our communities. Together, we can make a difference!

Please see email below from Nicholas at Lifewell re: affordable housing availability for the GMHSU population. Thank you!

We have Short-term affordable housing that is available to the GMHSU population. The lease is for 3 months with an opportunity to extend for an additional 3 months. The housing is designated for those single mothers who are in recovery and their children. During their stay they will be opened for services in which they will work with a team to provide support and education geared towards establishing their independence. The goal is that after the 6 months they’ll have the necessary skills to live independently in their own apartment.

Rent is based on 30% of income and if 0 income rent would be $50.00 with the understanding that while they are unemployed they may not be able to make that payment during the initial transition. A background check and initial screening will have to be completed.
