🤗 Builds Connection: Co-regulation strengthens relationships and creates a sense of safety.

😌 Supports Emotional Regulation: It helps us manage big feelings and find balance, especially when we’re overwhelmed.

🧠 Develops Self-Regulation: Over time, experiencing co-regulation helps us learn to regulate ourselves.

Ever notice how being around a calm person can help you feel calmer? That’s co-regulation! We can feel less scared or anxious - and more grounded - in the presence of another person. Co-regulation can be an action - like an embrace or a gentle touch - but it’s also experienced in the calming energy of another. Co-regulation helps us feel grounded and safe.
