We’re proud to spotlight Dr. Soffia Palsdottir, Chief Psychologist at Mental Health Center of America, whose compassionate leadership and clinical expertise continue to shape the future of mental health care.

Dr. Palsdottir specializes in adult and adolescent psychotherapy, with a focus on anxiety, trauma, depression, stress management, and psycho-oncology. Her approach blends psychodynamic therapy with mindfulness, existential, and cognitive-behavioral techniques—tailored to meet each patient’s unique needs.

With a background that spans inpatient psychiatric care, community mental health, and cancer support, Dr. Palsdottir brings a deep understanding of the psychological impact of illness and lifestyle on well-being. She is also a passionate advocate for nutritional psychiatry and the mind-body connection.

Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Palsdottir is a leader in professional education and research, serving on committees for the APA and contributing to the COVID-19 Psychology Task Force.
