During fight-or-flight, your heart rate increases, your pupils dilate, and you’re on high alert.
Plus, anything your body doesn’t need for survival comes to a grinding halt.
Digestion, reproductive growth hormone production, and tissue repair are all put on the back burner, according to The Cleveland Clinic.

But, our bodies weren’t designed to *stay* in fight-or-flight for more than a few hours.
