Thanks to everyone who dropped off school supplies and backpacks! It went a long way!

The Mesa Prevention Alliance, in partnership with community partners including Klaus Team Cares, distributed 1,323 backpacks at their 5th annual Back to School event that welcomed 1,823 youth and adults. In addition to the school supplies, they distributed 60 computers, provided over 100 haircut

Citizens of Mesa are invited to safely line the procession route on Monday morning to honor Apache Junction Police Department Officer Gabriel Facio starting at 8:30am.

The funeral procession for fallen Apache Junction Police Department Officer Gabriel Facio will take place in Mesa on Monday, June 16. The procession will begin at 8:30 a.m. at Mountain View Funeral Home, 7900 E. Main St., and head west along University Drive to Central Christian Church, 933 N. Lindsay Rd.

The public is invited to safely stand on the sidewalk along the route to pay their final respects to Officer Facio. Please drive with caution in this area during that time. Our thoughts go out to the Facio family and Apache Junction Police Department.
