Culture connects us. šŸ’› This week, our community celebrated the richness of India through food, music, art, and tradition. From sipping homemade mango lassis to hearing the sitar live at the Musical Instrument Museum, residents were immersed in moments of discovery and joy.

Thank you to our E&P director and all who helped us experience this journey together. We’re already looking forward to the Indian festival in December!

WHOO’s Fit? We are! šŸ’Ŗ
This August, Las Palomas residents are taking on a fitness challenge to see how many exercise classes they can complete. Each class earns them an owl figurine (in honor of our great horned owl family that nests here every spring šŸ¦‰šŸ’›).

From aquarobics and tai chi to boxing, yoga, and even synchronized swimming practice šŸ˜‰ residents have about 15 opportunities a week to stay active. WHOOever collects the most owls wins an afternoon out on the bus with a chauffeur. šŸšāœØ

šŸŽØ What if a painted umbrella could raise Alzheimer’s awareness? It can — and it is.

The competition is a creative social media campaign led by Spectrum Retirement senior living communities in support of Alzheimer's Association. Each community designed a hand-painted Artbrella to honor those impacted by Alzheimer’s and dementia.

Las Palomas Senior Living is proudly representing our region with a tail-wagging Artbrella inspired by the four-legged friends who fill our days with unconditional love. This community project was a true group effort, created by dog-loving residents and led by our amazing E&P director — a longtime dog portrait artist who always has treats in her pocket for the good boys and girls.

Our resident dogs are a special part of our daily lives. They keep us company, greet every guest with a tail wag, and give us the best reason to get outside and move. Like rainbows after a storm, they bring color, comfort, and joy to everyone they meet.

With your help, we could win our bracket and advance to the Final Four for a shot at national recognition.

šŸ’¬ LIKE, COMMENT, & SHARE to support Alzheimer’s awareness and the loyal companions who brighten our community.

There’s something truly special about a night at the theater—especially when it comes with a side of joy, laughter, and furry kisses šŸ’œšŸ¾

Our residents at Las Palomas enjoyed a beautiful performance of The Wizard of Oz at the Fountain Hills Theater, followed by a fun meet-and-greet with the cast. Jasper the pup (Toto) stole the show and our hearts!

Moments like these are more than entertainment—they're meaningful experiences shared together.

Smiles, stories, and smĆørrebrĆød—this month, our residents are diving into Danish cuisine with a creative cooking series that’s as meaningful as it is tasty.

Each week brings two new open-faced sandwiches and lots of laughs—especially when trying to pronounce them! We’ll close out the month with Scandinavian spirits and a traditional toast. SKƅL!

Music truly is the international language—and this weekend, we spoke it fluently! šŸŽ»šŸŽ¶

Our Las Palomas residents took a trip to the Musical Instrument Museum for a French-themed musical adventure. Between stunning opera arias, classical pieces from the Phoenix Symphony, and hands-on instrument fun, we laughed, learned, and even pretended to be musicians.

Next stop: India! We’re diving into another musical tradition next month—and we already can’t wait.

šŸŽØ Introducing: Paint Away Alzheimer’s – Our National Campaign to with Purpose šŸ’œā˜‚ļø

At Spectrum Retirement Communities, we believe that creativity can spark connection, storytelling, and even change. That’s why we’re proud to launch Paint Away Alzheimer’s, a national initiative raising funds and awareness for the Alzheimer’s AssociationĀ® through bold, beautiful, and one-of-a-kind works of art we call Artbrellas.

Each umbrella is a canvas of hope—designed by our residents, families, and teams to honor memories, raise awareness, and reflect the spirit of their community. These stunning Artbrellas will be proudly showcased at your local Walk to End Alzheimer’sĀ® and other Spectrum fundraising events.

šŸ’œ From brush to impact, every design supports Alzheimer’s research and reflects our commitment to purpose-driven living.

šŸŽØ Want to get involved or see your community’s Artbrella? Reach out to us—and follow us for updates as we Paint Away Alzheimer’s, together.
