April is Stress Awareness Month and has been observed as such since 1992. During this month, we aim to bring awareness to chronic stress and provide support to everyone who needs it. 🧠🌱
Chronic stress isn’t just a feeling - it has powerful effects on the body. Long-term stress can increase inflammation, weaken the immune system, disrupt sleep, raise blood pressure, and increase the risk of conditions such as heart disease, anxiety, and depression. 😖
When stress hormones, such as cortisol, stay elevated for too long, the body remains in a constant state of ”fight-or-flight,” which over time will impact both physical and mental health.
This month is a gentle reminder to pause, take a breath, and check in with yourself. Stress is a part of life and in small amounts can be healthy, but it shouldn’t take over your wellbeing. Using these 5 tips to manage daily stress can help in managing the stress we face daily in our lives.
Your mental health matters every single day - not just this month. 🌿
