The significance of the cherry blossom tree in Japanese culture goes back hundreds of years. In their country, the cherry blossom represents the fragility and the beauty of life. It's a reminder that life is almost overwhelmingly beautiful but that it is also tragically short. When the cherry blossom trees bloom for a short time each year in brilliant force, they serve as a visual reminder of how precious and how precarious life is. To me, cherry blossoms are symbolic of the prenatal and birth process and this is why Cherry Blossom Doula Services was created. Services offered:

Heard we’re reminiscing about 2016 🥹

Here’s what we were doing:

• Alyssa supported Doula Marlène’s birth + got some postpartum baby snuggles
• Aleta was hiking & baby wearing
• Hannah started her second year as a pediatric nurse (also got married that year!)
• Megan travelled to Paris 🇫🇷
• Valarie graduated with her first degree!
• Amy went to Cabo for her honeymoon
• Colleen was growing in motherhood
• Michét moved to AZ 🌵
• Marlène was newly postpartum 🩵

So fun to see our amazing team through all these stages that somehow led us to the same place—supporting women & parents 🩷

From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU for your generous diaper donations ♥️

Our first ever holiday diaper drive was a jolly success. We collected:

• 1875 diapers
• 10000+ wipes
• 7 tubes of diaper cream

No baby should be without diapers and no parents should have to worry about affording them. We are so proud to be a part of this community! 🎉

To shake our foundation and crack the shell we’ve formed as false protection.

To bring us to our knees, questioning every decision we’ve made, so that we can come out on the other side with divine wisdom, intuition, and deep empathy for this new version of our ourselves.

Not only are we birthing our babies, we are birthing our souls. ✨

In case you couldn’t make it, here are 3 takeaways from our breastfeeding class:

1. Try multiple positions.

2. Make sure your needs are met first. Being comfortable, nourished, and in a good headspace makes breastfeeding more sustainable long term.

3. Just because breastfeeding is natural, doesn’t mean it always comes naturally. For any hiccups along the way, our doulas and IBCLC Kristen are here to give you practical tips and support 💕

Connection with the birth community is a doula’s superpower (one of many!)

Our collective loves to bring in birth professionals to share their knowledge & offerings with our doulas. This is something we find mutually benefits our families, doulas, and the providers.

This week, we had the absolute joy of welcoming to our postpartum breakfast.

Lisette is a traditional midwife with a heart for honoring indigenous practices that have supported mothers for generations. Her lesson with us focused on Craniosacral Fascial Therapy (CFT) and its benefits for our moms and babies.

We learned so much and can’t wait to better support our clients with this knowledge and exceptional referral! Thank you for sharing your wisdom & for all you do for this community, Lisette ♥️
