A new school year is an exciting time.
But it can also bring anxiety for children and teens with a prosthetic eye.
At Eye Concern, we offer personalized care to make sure young patients feel confident and comfortable as they return to school. From regular fittings to cleaning & polishing, we ensure each prosthesis looks natural and fits properly as kids grow.
A well-fitted prosthetic eye supports facial development. It also helps children feel more at ease in social settings.
Before the school year starts, consider scheduling an evaluation to give your child the confidence they deserve.
For individuals born with conditions such as microphthalmia or anophthalmia, prosthetic eyes offer cosmetic restoration, facial development, and much more.
They support long-term development, confidence, and social comfort.
Eye Concern specializes in creating prosthetic devices that are adjustable with our patients' growth changes.
Starting in early childhood, we provide regular adjustments to ensure the prosthesis supports facial symmetry and comfort as the child grows.
These prosthetics also reduce feelings of self-consciousness, allowing children and teens to engage confidently in daily life.
And as they transition into adulthood, we continue to refine and customize their care to fit their evolving needs.
“John, Starla, Cameran, Trent and all staff are exceptional. We have been coming here for 25 years and are incredibly thankful that they are part of our lives.” - JB
JB’s words are a reflection of the long-term trust we build with the people we serve.
At Eye Concern, relationships matter.
Whether it's a first visit or a visit after decades, every patient receives the same attention to detail, personal care, and expert craftsmanship.
July is a month where we celebrate independence. And at Eye Concern, that theme extends beyond fireworks and flags.
A well-crafted ocular prosthetic device gives patients the freedom to feel like themselves again.
When you have a well-crafted prosthesis, you no longer have to worry about managing discomfort throughout the day or how others perceive your eye. It allows confidence, serenity, and emotional healing to emerge.
Our custom prosthetic devices are carefully crafted, shaped, and colored to match your natural eye. They help you move through your world with comfort and confidence.
When it comes to prosthetic eyes, customization is everything.
Unlike stock eyes, a custom prosthesis is shaped to fit your unique anatomy and hand-painted to match your natural eye with exceptional detail.
At Eye Concern, we use the Modified Impression Method to create a foundation that mirrors the eye socket precisely. From there, we sculpt, paint, and finish the prosthesis to appear like living tissue.
The result is a comfortable fit and a realistic appearance that blends seamlessly into your everyday life.
“Absolutely love the staff. Very understanding. And amazing work!!! My son has been coming here for his prosthetic eye for almost 4 years now. They have changed our lives with their talent. They have given our son the chance to look like everyone else.” - Dusty S.
Dusty’s words remind us of why we do what we do.
A prosthetic eye is about restoring confidence and appearance, especially for young patients navigating the world.
At Eye Concern, we’re honored to walk alongside families year after year, helping their children grow up feeling seen and supported.
As summer approaches, it’s a great time to check in on your prosthetic eye. Whether you’re traveling, attending family gatherings, or simply spending more time outside.
Making sure your prosthesis is comfortable and looking its best can help you enjoy the season with confidence. At Eye Concern, we offer professional cleanings, refittings, and adjustments to keep your prosthetic eye in top shape.
If it’s been a while since your last visit or you’ve noticed subtle changes in comfort or appearance, now is a perfect time to schedule an appointment.
Summer weather can affect your prosthetic eye more than you might think.
Heat and humidity can cause dryness, while outdoor dust or sweat may lead to irritation if the eye isn’t cleaned regularly.
Be sure to wash your hands before handling your prosthesis, and use a gentle cleaning routine to maintain hygiene. You may also want to keep lubricating drops on hand to help with dryness.
If discomfort or fit issues arise, a professional polish or adjustment may be needed.
After losing my eye to a 28-year eye disease, I was fortunate enough to find Eye Concern to aid me in feeling like a normal human being again. From the moment I called and spoke with them, I was instantly put at ease. They were so kind and very clear in their explanations of what I was to expect with my first visit. I am forever grateful to all of the staff. You gave me back a better version of myself than I have seen in over 15 years. Abundant love and gratitude.” – Laura B.
Laura’s experience highlights exactly what we aim to provide: comfort, clarity, and a renewed sense of self.
There’s something powerful about looking in the mirror and seeing a version of yourself that feels whole again.
At Eye Concern, we understand that a prosthetic eye does more than restore appearance.
It restores confidence and identity.
Using the Modified Impression Method, we ensure a precise fit, and our team hand-paints each prosthesis to match your natural eye in color, texture, and detail.
This high level of customization allows our patients to walk away with a prosthetic that looks like living tissue. Not something artificial.
Our goal is for each person to leave not just looking like themselves, but feeling like themselves again.

Meet the Business Owner
John H. Business Owner John had the unique experience as a young man of seeing an abnormality in his infant sister's eye. He pointed this out to his parents, and when they had it checked found that there was a tumor growing in her eye. The eye was subsequently enucleated (surgically removed), and then the real challenges began. John watched his parents and sister struggle for years to find a properly fitting ocular prosthesis, with no success. He felt that no one should have to live with those difficulties. Through her struggles he found his inspiration to apprentice as an Ocularist. Now 35+ years later the same passion drives his compassion and desire to serve others who find themselves with the need for a prosthetic eye. Bachelor of Arts degree from BYU, received 1971 Received extensive training in anatomy and art through University, Apprenticeship and Associate courses, many of which were provided by the American Society of Ocularists.
