Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends and colleagues of the two Firefighters from Timber Mesa.

Timber Mesa Fire and Medical District is saddened to announce the line of duty deaths of two of our firefighters on September 14, 2025. The firefighters were involved in a traffic collision on State Route 260. The collision is under investigation by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Out of respect for the families, the names of our firefighters will be released once notifications have been made and as time permits. We ask that the media and the public respect the family’s privacy of the fallen firefighters and to refrain from sharing unverified information. Please rely on official statements from Timber Mesa Fire and Medical District or other vetted sources.

Our entire organization is grieving the loss of our team members. We ask for privacy and compassion as we support the families, co-workers, and community during this very difficult time.

For those of you who have never had to wear this piece of fabric, it is by far is the heaviest piece of fabric on the planet.

The weight is staggering. It can be so heavy that it takes your breath away. Heavier than any uniform. Much heavier than a vest, SCBA or any other gear.

And each time we wear it, it gets heavier.

We wear these with honor, humility and pride for those of whom they are intended to honor.

We will continue to wear them when needed in the hopes that it will be the last time.

To those who have gone before us, we thank you and respect your sacrifices. To those still with us, keep up the good work and keep fighting the fight every day.

Standy by each other and watch each other's backs and reach out when you need help. Stay strong.
