WORKING A LOT? THIS IS HOW OVERWORK AFFECTS MEN’S HEALTH

Overworking can have detrimental effects on your health, including

- Increased stress levels

- Fatigue

- Decreased immune function

- Disrupted sleep patterns

- Higher risk of mental health issues

- Cardiovascular problems

- Hormonal imbalances

…which can negatively impact your overall well-being and quality of life.

Overwork can specifically negatively affect testosterone levels by increasing stress and cortisol production, which can disrupt hormonal balance, decrease testosterone production, and lead to lower testosterone levels in the body.

Here’s how to put things back on track:

SET BOUNDARIES: Consider and discuss your desired availability, preferred methods of communication, and when to say no…in advance

DELEGATE: Take the time to find and train people who can support you at work or at home.

TAKE BREAKS: Breaks every 1-2 hours can help promote better cortisol regulation and overall well-being. Leave your workspace for 10-15 mins.

RELAX: Schedule in a calming activity daily. Go to a meditation group, get out into nature, read, or make time for intimacy with your partner–do whatever relaxes you!

…AND GET STRONG & HEALTHY

Here are the top hacks - do you know why they work?

LIFT WEIGHTS: Boosts testosterone by stimulating muscle growth and triggering hormonal responses that promote the production of testosterone.

SUN EXPOSURE: Stimulates the production of vitamin D in the body, which is essential for testosterone synthesis and hormonal balance.

DECREASE STRESS: Reduces the production of cortisol, a stress hormone that can inhibit testosterone production and disrupt hormonal balance.

HEALTHY FATS: Supply the necessary building blocks for hormone production, supporting optimal hormone synthesis.

HAVE MORE S*X: Stimulates the release of hormones, including testosterone, which can lead to increased production.

PRIORITIZE SLEEP: Adequate and quality sleep supports hormonal regulation and helps maintain optimal testosterone levels.

MINIMIZE DRUG & ALCOHOL USE: Alcohol can inhibit testosterone production, while certain drugs can interfere with hormone receptors or alter hormone levels directly.

AVOID ESTROGEN-MIMICKING CHEMICALS: Certain environmental pollutants and compounds found in plastics can bind to estrogen receptors and stop normal testosterone synthesis and regulation.

EAT ZINC-RICH FOODS: Zinc is found in red meat, seafood, legumes, nuts & seeds, eggs and vegetables, including spinach, kale, asparagus and mushrooms.

BUT WHY? YOU MIGHT ASK. AND HOW CAN I GET MORE?

Good question! It’s because:

1️. Immune Function: Inadequate sleep compromises the immune system, making you more susceptible to infections and illnesses.

2️. Blood Pressure: Lack of sleep disrupts the body's natural blood pressure regulation, leading to higher blood pressure levels and increased risk of hypertension.

3️. Weight Gain: Sleep deprivation affects appetite-regulating hormones, increasing cravings for high-calorie foods and impairing metabolism, which can contribute to weight gain.

4️. Mood Instability: Insufficient sleep disrupts the balance of neurotransmitters responsible for regulating mood, leading to irritability, anxiety, and depression.

5️. Poor Brain Function: Lack of sleep impairs cognitive functions such as concentration, memory, decision-making, and problem-solving, negatively impacting overall brain performance.

6️. Decreased Libido: Sleep deprivation affects hormone levels, including testosterone, which plays a crucial role in s*xual desire and performance.

Ensuring adequate sleep duration and quality is vital to keep you feeling good, well, and have a healthy life!

Poor sleep can have multiple and sometimes complex root causes.

LOOKING FOR STRONG, HEALTHY HAIR?

Saw palmetto is believed to help support hair health by inhibiting the activity of an enzyme called needed to promote hair growth and strong hair follicles.

RED, ITCHY, TENDER, DRY OR SCALY SCALP?

Saw palmetto contains bioactive compounds, such as fatty acids and phytosterols, which have helped support the body’s natural inflammatory response. This means they may help with the health of your scalp.

LOW TESTOSTERONE?

If (aside from your hair health!), you also have fatigue, decreased s*x drive, erectile dysfunction, mood changes, decreased muscle mass, increased body fat, and decreased bone density, you may be experiencing signs of low testosterone.

Also, thanks to its actions on the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone, saw palmetto is believed to potentially support healthy testosterone levels in the body.
