Candle lit. Tea steaming. Creativity humming.

Twelve hours later?
✔️ Strategy mapped
✔️ Tech glitch solved
✔️ Emails written
✔️ Backyard cleared
✔️ Beauty created

And still… my achiever brain whispered:
“What else can I squeeze in before dinner?”

But this time, I chose differently.

I asked my body what it needed—not what I could check off.

💡 That’s the paradox I’m sitting with:
Productivity without attuning to your needs is just hustle.
Productivity WHILE attuning to your needs offers sustainable creativity.

Reading literature, poetry, gardening, painting watercolor are MY remedies for hours and hours of work on screens.

Tend your nervous system as well as your eyes and your brain. Do what lights you up - away from screens. Gaze at the sky or at mountains in the distance.

Someone needed to hear this today. I'm thinking of you today.

Dawn Browning, Ph.D., RYT-500 is an ecologist, yoga professional, essential oil educator, wife, sister, friend, and devoted dog mother. Her studies span rattlesnakes, desert-adapted plants, yoga, and meditation. She first experienced the myriad benefits of yoga as a graduate student in 2002 and yoga has been a part of her life ever since. She loves her science and balances her analytical tendencies with the creative expression and power that yoga provides. Dawn leads yoga to provide students with an opportunity to more fully occupy their bodies, envision peace in their lives, gain experience with tools and techniques to reduce stress and achieve self-awareness. Dawn’s regular teaching schedule (as of 1/22/2019) includes Yogahour+meditate (1-2:15 Sundays) at Dwell Yoga in downtown Las Cruces, NM. Dawn also offers workshops on holistic tools (such as essential oils, meditation, and malas) for greater peace of mind and physical health, and less stress.
