FROM ONE WOMAN TO ANOTHER!

Dr. Reena John, the only female interventional pain physician in the greater New Orleans area, performs cutting edge surgeries and medical management to help you overcome debilitating chronic pelvic pain (CPP).

You no longer have to feel uncomfortable talking about you pelvic pain. Women with chronic pelvic pain experience discomfort anywhere below the belly button and between the hip bones for six months. CPP is complex and determining the cause can be difficult. The pain can be sharp and stabbing pain (sometimes similar to menstrual cramping), steady and dull, coming and going, or constant.

Often, pelvic pain can make it hard to live the kind of life you want, interfering with your ability to work, exercise, or have s*x.

Research shows that neuromodulation devices such as Spinal Cord Stimulators (SCS), and more recently Dorsal Root Ganglion Stimulators (DRG), have successfully treated patients with chronic pelvic pain. Dr. John has implanted these and successfully improved her patient's quality of life.

If you have had lower back pain, you are not alone. Back pain is one of most common reasons people see a doctor or miss days at work. Back pain can range in intensity from a dull, constant ache to a sudden, sharp or shooting pain. It can begin suddenly as a result of an accident or by lifting something heavy, or it can develop over time as we age.

The lower back—where most back pain occurs—includes the five vertebrae (referred to as L1-L5) in the lumbar region, which supports much of the weight of the upper body. The spaces between the vertebrae are maintained by round, rubbery pads called intervertebral discs that act like shock absorbers throughout the spinal column to cushion the bones as the body moves. Thirty-one pairs of nerves are rooted to the spinal cord and they control body movements and transmit signals from the body to the brain. Low back pain can be a result of congenital deviations in anatomy, trauma, overuse, and degenerative changes over time.

Our physicians are trained to efficiently diagnose your low back pain with a thorough medical history, physical exam, and diagnostic imaging/testing. Visit our website www.aligninterventionalspine.com or give us a call at 504.54.SPINE to schedule your appointment.
