After a devastating pelvic trauma, Kenny Knowles’ recovery involved care from multiple hospitals and specialties, including trauma surgery, orthopedics, sports medicine, rehabilitation, and reconstructive urology. University Medical Center New Orleans

As part of that coordinated effort, Dr. Babak Azad, Reconstructive Urologist at Tulane Urology, performed a complex 10-hour urethral reconstruction to help restore Kenny’s urinary function and quality of life.

We are proud to have played a role in Kenny’s journey toward recovery and are grateful to the many healthcare teams who helped care for him along the way.

This past weekend at the 2026 AUA Annual Meeting in Washington, DC, Tulane Urology alumni came together for a special evening of reconnecting, networking, and celebrating the strength of the Tulane Urology family.
