Melasma is not just “sun damage.” It is influenced by multiple types of light, and that’s why it can be so persistent.
Here are 3 tips we give patients who are serious about getting it under control:
1️⃣ Use a tinted sunscreen every day INCLUDING INSIDE!
Look for tint or iron oxides. For many patients with hyperpigmentation, visible light can be a trigger, not just UV exposure. Treat it like brushing your teeth. Apply it first thing in the morning, every day.
2️⃣ Use a pigment-targeting product that your skin can tolerate
This is where the right routine matters. If a product makes you red, itchy, or inflamed, it can worsen pigment over time. Our Pure Clear Pads and Pure Clear Cream help support smoother, more even-looking skin without unnecessary irritation.
3️⃣ Get your lasers in winter and Diamond Glows in summer!
Once you have your tinted SPF, skincare, and prescriptions tightened up. laser can be used to get even more traction. These are best done in winter months and then we transition to gentler treatments like Diamond Glow in summer. Repeat Diamond Glow also helps your home routine be more effective.
Our Pure Platinum Membership lets you choose from 30 different procedures at discounted pricing. Make a cosmetic consult today to see what treatments are right for your skin.
