Thomas Dominick is the Head Coach and Manager of Training Room NOLA, where he oversees programming, coaching, staff management, personal training, and overall gym operations. He brings over a decade of experience in the functional fitness and CrossFit space, with a strong background in athlete development, performance programming, and organizational leadership.
Thomas has been coaching since 2014, beginning at Metairie CrossFit before stepping into head coaching roles at CrossFit Roux and CrossFit NOLA. He later founded and led Vanguard Fitness as head coach and programmer, further developing his structured approach to long-term athlete development and performance-based training systems. His experience spans group classes, competitive athletes, and individualized personal training across all levels of fitness.
Alongside his coaching career, Thomas served eight years in the Army National Guard, achieving the rank of Sergeant. During his service with the 769th Engineer Battalion, he was nominated three times for Soldier of the Year and earned NCO of the Year for the state of Louisiana and his unit. His military background reinforces his leadership style, discipline, and systems-based approach to coaching and gym management.
As an athlete, Thomas has a diverse competitive background rooted in endurance sports and strength disciplines. He ran track and cross country at EJ before transitioning into CrossFit in 2012, where he has continued to compete at a high level. His athletic experience also includes half marathons, 10Ks, 5Ks, Olympic weightlifting competitions, and powerlifting meets. This year marks his qualification into high-level CrossFit Semifinals competition, further strengthening his performance-driven coaching perspective.
