We recently had the pleasure of seeing former Congressman Robert "Bob" Livingston at Caplan Eye Clinic

He is currently undergoing Valeda Light Therapy for Macular Degeneration.

Valeda Light Therapy is the only FDA approved treatment for dry macular degeneration. This treatment takes only minutes, is painless and can be done in our Metairie and Mandeville locations.

A very special longtime patient, Ms. Irene, was at Caplan Eye Clinic this week.
Dr. Dan Caplan & Dr. Chad Caplan were thrilled to visit with Ms. Irene and wish her an early happy birthday.
In just 2 weeks, she will be celebrating her 100th birthday!
Ms. Irene became a patient of Dr. Harry Caplan 68 years ago. She is a favorite of our staff and doctors because she is so sweet and friendly.

Celebrating 87 years since the founding of Caplan Eye Clinic in 1938 by the late Dr. Harry B. Caplan.
Although Caplan Eye Clinic is the oldest eye care practice in Louisiana, we are also proud to be a leader in innovation.
In just the past 3 years:
Caplan Eye Clinic became the 1st independent eye care practice in the region to adopt the Epic medical records system used by Ochsner, LCMC & Tulane - thus enabling their doctors to easily access our eye patient records and vice versa.
Caplan Eye Clinic opened the 1st office based cataract surgery suite in Louisiana.
Our own Dr Brendon Sumich became the 1st physician in Louisiana to perform cataract surgery in an office cataract surgery suite.
Caplan Eye Clinic became the only eye care practice in Louisiana to participate in an FDA Clinical Trial for the new breakthrough Valeda light therapy for macular degeneration.
Caplan Eye Clinic was also the 1st eye care practice in the U.S. to use the Valeda light therapy following FDA approval.
And Dr. Chad Caplan became the 1st physician in the U. S. to perform Valeda light therapy following FDA approval.
