Congrats to Leo Muralles on his new role as assistant coach of the New Orleans Saints Cheer Krewe! ⚜️

Leo, a supervisor of clinical services at Ochsner Health Center - Driftwood and LSU Family Medicine, previously made waves when he became the oldest NFL cheerleader at 43. Now he gets to bring that same energy to coaching, helping the next generation of Saints Cheer Krewe members fly higher than ever!

When asked about making the jump to coach, Leonel said: “It’s very exciting. I’ve always enjoyed mentoring others and leading by example, and now I have the opportunity to continue doing that as a coach.”

Leo said he believes true success comes from lifting those around you up. As an assistant coach, Leo is eager to bring his years of experience and energy to the sidelines in a new way. But what drives him is the chance to develop the squad.

“Success should be measured by how well we help others become better versions of themselves,” he said. “When we focus on that, the rest will naturally fall into place.”
Representing both Ochsner Health and the Saints Cheer Krewe is something Leo takes to heart.

“It is an honor to represent both Ochsner and the Saints Cheer Krewe, and it means a great deal to me,” Leo said. Leo hopes his journey will inspire others to chase their dreams, reminding us that it’s never too late to embrace new challenges and grow.

“I hope people understand that you are never too old, and it’s never too late to pursue something you’re passionate about,” he said.

To Leo, the most important thing is his family and their support.

“Seeing my kids proud of their dad makes it all worth it,” he said. “But none of this is possible without the support of my wife. She helps keep the fort at home while I have some late nights at the Saints Training Facility. For that I am very thankful.”

Please join us in congratulating him on this achievement and cheering him on in his new role. Geaux Saints! 💙
