Direct access to chiropractic care is available in most situations without the need for physician referrals! However, insurance coverage policies may vary significantly between providers. πŸ’―

Best practice: Connect with both your insurance representative and your prospective chiropractic office before scheduling to confirm their specific requirements and maximize your coverage benefits. πŸ“‹

For patients with insurance considerations, we're happy to coordinate care with your primary physician to ensure comprehensive treatment alignment.

According to a recent Harris Poll survey conducted for the Foundation for Chiropractic Progress, 82% of Americans have experienced back or neck pain. While drug-free treatments like chiropractic care can be equally effective for pain relief, the survey found that most adults still choose medication versus chiropractic.

3 Common Questions We Receive About Chiropractic Care (and our answers!)

πŸ†˜ What conditions can chiropractic care help with?
Chiropractic care can help with various conditions, including back pain, neck pain, headaches, migraines, sciatica, joint pain, sports injuries, and musculoskeletal disorders. It can also improve overall posture, flexibility, and spinal health. In pregnancy, it can help alleviate pregnancy pains and make delivery of the baby easier.

πŸ—’οΈ What can I expect during a chiropractic session?
During a chiropractic session, GCSS will evaluate your medical history, perform a physical examination, and may order diagnostic tests if necessary. We will then use manual techniques, adjustments, or other therapeutic modalities to address your specific condition. The treatment is typically painless and may provide immediate relief or require multiple sessions for optimal results.

🩹 Does chiropractic care hurt?
Chiropractic adjustments are generally not painful, but you may feel some mild discomfort or temporary soreness after the treatment. These sensations are often a normal part of the healing process as your body adjusts to the changes. GCSS willl communicate with you throughout the session to ensure your comfort.

Neck pain. Low back pain. Tight shoulders or aching hips.

These are some of the most common areas we treat at Gulf Coast Sport & Spine, and they’re often caused by more than just one bad movement.

βœ”οΈ Prolonged sitting
βœ”οΈ Repetitive motions
βœ”οΈ Postural changes
βœ”οΈ Sports trauma
βœ”οΈ Stress or poor sleep positions

Our goal is to identify the root cause, not just chase symptoms, so your body can move, perform, and recover better.

We see it every January: big exercise goals, fast starts… and sore, frustrated bodies a few weeks later.

Here’s a better approach to movement in the new year:
βœ”οΈ Start slow
βœ”οΈ Focus on consistency, not intensity
βœ”οΈ Choose movements your body actually enjoys
βœ”οΈ Prioritize mobility, stability, and recovery

You don’t need a complete overhaul to feel better. A daily walk, light strength work, stretching, or core-focused exercises can make a real difference when done consistently.

If you’re unsure where to startβ€”or want to make sure your exercise routine supports your spine and jointsβ€”we’re here to help. Let’s make this a year of feeling better, not burning out.

Give us a call at (504) 372-4062 or visit gcsportandspine.com to make an appointment.
