✖️You don't find long term relief from percussion guns, foam rollers, stretching, or other means of self care
✖️You feel drained of energy because of your daily aches and pains
✖️You spend too much time at a computer in a position that promotes poor posture & positioning
✖️You don't find basic spa massages to be effective in addressing your discomfort, tightness, and tension

The ligaments in our knees help to maintain stability, and even prevent your knees from twisting or collapsing when performing odd or even common movements. Our patients, typically, will report having trouble walking or walking with a limp, having issues with going up and down stairs, or even just getting up or down in general and struggling to initiate simple movements. This is a very tough position for people to be in because knee pain causes so many mobility impairments.

There are four main ligaments in our knees, two of them preventing our knees from moving side to side, and two working to keep your knees from moving forward and backward. Still with me?

🦵Your MCL provides stability to the inner area of your knee, while the LCL stabilizes the outside.
🦵Your ACL, the most commonly injured ligament, connects the femur and tibia towards the front of the knee. While your PCL connects the femur and tibia towards the back of the knee.

Did you know about the four main ligaments in the knee? Let us know in the comments!

𝗧𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘄, we are 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗢𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 for the month. We want to not only educate you all, but show you that there are other ways to combat this discomfort in your life, without medications or surgery. It’s important to give longterm, and lasting options when discussing pain and injury, since not every solution is suitable for every individual. In this case, specifically, our osteoporosis workshops are perfect for those looking for guidance in establishing an effective program that’ll help to prevent fractures related to bone weakening.

Lack in bone density is common for older adults, but not exclusive, so it is very important to keep your bones strong and dense, and learn how to support your body in healthy ways. Seminars like ours are also great to make sure the exercises you practice are appropriate or helpful, and work towards building mobility, safety, and longterm independence.

If you don't get the chance to join this free seminar, our 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗴 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁 discusses the safety concerns surrounding weightlifting with osteoporosis ➡️ “I𝘴 𝘪𝘵 𝘚𝘢𝘧𝘦 𝘍𝘰𝘳 𝘔𝘦 𝘛𝘰 𝘞𝘦𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘓𝘪𝘧𝘵 𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘐 𝘏𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘖𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘴?”

Specializing in keeping you active, mobile and healthy for years to come...

At Tandem Physical Therapy we specialize in helping active adults in their 40’s, 50’s and 60’s stay mobile and healthy for years to come without relying on medications or making repeated trips to the doctor. In our physical therapy practice we use a skillful “hands on” approach as the cornerstone of our practice and incorporate specialized exercises to fix painful movement compensations. We are fully dedicated to understanding your concerns and aligning our treatments to match your goals. We also offer weekly Pilates-based exercise classes to keep our patients and community strong and healthy.

We know what it takes to get you better.

Our years of experience have shown us what it takes to get a successful outcome. Our physical therapy model offers the highest quality of care available. This means more time with your physical therapist providing interventions to get you where you want to be faster.

We also believe in time spent to help you understand what is causing your problem and what needs to happen to fix it. We use technology, models, books and illustrations to help you visualize what tissues are affected and why. You will feel a better sense of understanding and control after each treatment while working one on one with your therapist.
