Everyone absolutely loves when y’all come to visit, and we’re already looking forward to the next auction day!

🌶️🌮🌯🫘🍡Cinco de Mayo at SMC🌶️🌮🌯🫘🍡

Our fiesta kicked off with a fun round of fiesta bingo with Yolanda from Bridge Hospice—thank you for spending the day with us and bringing so many smiles!
Then our residents enjoyed a delicious Mexican feast for lunch, followed by sweet treats to top it all off. It was full of laughter, good food, and great company… taco ‘bout a good time! 💃🌶️

💞🌱🪴 …Some seeds are whisked away by the wind, while others are carried by creatures to their destinations. Once seeds find their spot, they go through breathtaking transformations, multiplying in number and size and thriving in even the most unseemly places. We humans plant seeds, too, and with care we can cultivate and nurture something wonderful, whether by sowing a seed in the earth or by choosing our own seeds of kindness to spread around…💞🌱🪴

Thank you to the Taulbee triplets—👱🏼‍♀️👱🏼‍♂️👸🏼 especially Miss Southern States Beauty Queen, Maggie—for such a special visit to SMC!
Maggie read the book “Seeds” to our residents and gifted each of them a packet of seeds along with a bookmark in support of her pageant platform! Her siblings prepared soil cups for every resident to plant their seeds, care for them, and watch them grow!
It was such a sweet and meaningful visit. The joy on everyone’s faces said it all—especially their proud grandaddy! 💙🌱

Just like planting a seed…an assisted living facility is much like a new garden, where lives continue to bloom, kindness takes root, and even the smallest seeds can create something truly beautiful!!

🌟🪴🪏Thank you to the fabulous ladies of the JOY group with Canoochee Missionary Baptist Church for spending time with our residents and leading such a sweet, meaningful planting activity!
💙They used the pots ((our hearts and what we put in our hearts is what God sees))
🪨Rocks ((hard times and trials so we can use those to praise God and give Him the glory )
🟤Soil ((is soft like Gods words and how he takes care of us-He gives us what we need like the soil gives the plant nutrients))
🪴Then everyone put a beautiful succulent plant in a pot!
Succulents don’t need a lot of care... but God ALWAYS gives us what we need! 🙏🏼HE takes care of you, like you will take care of your plant!🪴

🐰🌷Easter egg hunt fun at SMC! 🐣💛
We started off the week with meaningful devotions leading up to our Easter celebration:
“He is not here; He has risen, just as He said.” – Matthew 28:6 ✝️

Our residents (and even a few staff members!) got their steps in traveling all around the facility searching for eggs. Each egg was counted, and everyone was rewarded with a handmade crocheted bunny pin—such a sweet touch! 🐰
After the hunt, we gathered together and enjoyed a few Easter games and snacks!
It’s been a beautiful week celebrating the joy, hope, and togetherness of Easter! 💛

🐰🩷🐣✝️👵🏽🧓🏻👨🏻‍🦳👴🏼
🌷We kicked off our Easter weekend yesterday with the sweetest visit from our friends at Metter Elementary School! The students and their amazing teachers brought Easter baskets filled with all kinds of goodies for our residents, and their joy was simply contagious. These precious “busy bunnies” delivered each basket with big smiles, warm hugs, and so much love!!!

💗 Honestly, I think their visit meant more than anything—you could see it written all over our residents’ faces. Moments like these remind us just how special our Metter community truly is. Sometimes, all you need is a hug. 💛

💯A special thank you to Katie and Brenna for thinking of our babies right alongside your own and taking the time to come brighten their day. Your kindness is such a beautiful example of being the HANDS and FEET of JESUS, and it truly touched our hearts! ✝️

We are also incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed to their 5th Grade “Sharing Kindness and Love Project.” Because of your generosity, these students and staff were able to deliver 200 Easter baskets to THREE nursing homes!!!!! That’s AMAZING!!! 🤩
What a blessing this day was—not just for our residents, but for these sweet children as well.
Our hearts are so full at Southern Manor At Candler! ! 🐥💛

Thank you, Mr. Woody Nasworthy and Oak Grove Chapel, for coming to SMC and blessing our residents with such beautiful gospel music! Everyone truly enjoyed the uplifting songs and the wonderful time of fellowship, along with the delicious refreshments afterwards. We appreciate you sharing your talents and bringing so much joy to our community!
