Today, let's take a moment to pause, reflect, and celebrate how far your child has come this month as we say goodbye to May and welcome a new season.

Growth isn't always measured by big milestones. Sometimes it's found in the small moments, a new skill, a little more confidence, a challenge worked through, or a routine that finally clicked.

As June begins and summer approaches, think about what helped your child thrive this season and what they may need to feel confident, supported, and successful in the months ahead.

Wishing you a peaceful Sunday filled with reflection, connection, and gratitude for the journey so far.

What's one thing your child accomplished this month that you're proud of?

Why does your child want to do the same activity over and over?

Repetition is an important part of how children learn and grow. When children repeat activities, they build coordination, confidence, problem-solving skills, and strong brain connections.

Each time they try again, they refine skills and gain confidence.

Sometimes what looks repetitive is actually growth in action.

Has your child ever had a favorite activity they wanted to do again and again?

At-Home Tip for Families. One of the simplest ways to support your child’s development at home is through play.

This week, try creating a simple obstacle course using pillows, blankets, chairs, or tape on the floor. You know, the kind we used to make as kids! This will not only help your child/children, but you can also reconnect with your inner child!

Children can:
• Crawl under
• Step over
• Jump between spots
• Balance along a line
• Toss stuffed animals into a basket

Obstacle courses can help support coordination, balance, body awareness, motor planning, strength, and confidence, all while making movement fun.

And the best part? You don’t need fancy equipment. Sometimes the most meaningful activities happen right at home.

By the way, couch cushions also make great fort building tools!

If you try this activity, let us know how it goes!

Summer break is almost here. One simple way to help kids transition into summer routines is by creating a loose daily rhythm instead of a strict schedule.

A few things that can help:
🌿 Outdoor play or movement time
🎨 Creative activities
📚 Quiet reading time
💧 Water + snack breaks
😴 Consistent bedtime routines

Children often do best when there’s a balance of movement, rest, creativity, and predictability throughout the day. And remember, you don’t have to create a “perfect” summer. Simple moments and routines matter too.

What are your child’s favorite summer activities, places to explore, or local events?
One of the things we like to do on this page is share kid tips and also share local events and activities for kids, so we would love your ideas on best events in the area or places to take kids during the summer months.

Art activities can help support fine motor development and we love supporting creativity! Creative projects help children build hand strength, coordination, finger control, bilateral coordination, and focus.

Try this simple activity at home this week:

✂️ Torn Paper Rainbow Collage
Have your child tear colorful construction paper into small pieces and glue them onto paper to create a rainbow, animal, flower, or favorite shape.

Why it helps:
• Tearing paper strengthens little hand muscles
• Gluing supports hand-eye coordination
• Picking up small pieces encourages finger control
• Creating the picture builds focus and creativity

Another fun idea:
🎨 Q-tip painting!
Use Q-tips instead of paint brushes to create dots, flowers, or simple pictures. This encourages grasp strength and precision.

Art is awesome! Keep your kids creating and create with them. Channel your inner child artist!

Therapy tip for the weekend.

If your child has a hard time winding down after school, try adding a calming movement activity before quiet time or bedtime.

A few simple ideas:
• Stretching
• Yoga poses
• Rolling on an exercise ball
• Slow walks
• Deep breathing together

Movement can help the body feel more regulated, calm, and ready to transition into rest. Sometimes the simplest routines can make a big difference.

Sometimes as parents, we look at our kids playing and think they’re “just playing.” But meanwhile they’re climbing, balancing, figuring things out, building coordination, problem-solving, using creativity, and learning so much about their bodies and the world around them.

Play really is such important work for kids!!! And honestly… sometimes the best growth happens in the moments that just feel fun.

What’s your child’s favorite way to play right now?
