How are the cards I pulled this morning related to Mangala, as this Cosmic Body is known in Vedic Astrology?

Fire - Mars is the physical manifestation of Agni or fire. This is can be seen in the actual lighting of fire, whether a forest fire or the act of lighting a candle.
This can also be experienced as the activation of our inner fire - such as our digestive fire, fueled by what we at and how it’s literally digested and may also be experienced through different breath practices that activate or ignite our Agni, often times leaving us energized if practiced correctly.

Take Action - Mars, as the commander in chief represents action. When we are clear in our mind, we are able to take right action. When we have discernment, we can ask ourselves is this action in my best interest and in that of others or is it an impulse to react?

Patience - Mars does not represent patience, but for me in this moment it served as a great reminder to continue to cultivate patience. Patience for myself, my journey - how it continues to unfold, patience for those around me -what if I considered someone is offering me their best today, patience for this cosmic unfolding and my understanding or not understanding of it all.

How can I stir my inner fire to take right action and not be attached to a specific outcome? This is a practice of patience.

A bright and auspicious day in the Vedic calendar as we close out Navaratri. The Goddess Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati- all birthed from that infinite source of Shakti, of radiant light, here to help navigate obstacles, bless us with prosperity and wisdom…and so much more!

Just as Durga was victorious in her battle, may we arrive victorious in all of our own inner battles - may we be empowered to move forward with courage, right action and above all know that we are loved.

It takes courage to cultivate that self-love - a reminder to water and tend to those seeds first. 🌱

In Vedic Astrology or “Jyotish” each of the “Grahas” or Planets have embodied qualities and symbolism that shine a light on our cosmic blue print depending on their house placement and constellation. If you’ve been curious to learn more about the planets and what they represent in your natal chart join us on Tuesday at 8pm EST for a virtual session with to dive in a little deeper.

In each of the Cosmic Mythology sessions we’ll meet monthly and dive into the cosmic wisdom of each of the 9 Planets used in Vedic Astrology, by understanding their mythology and unpacking some of the symbolism found in our natal chart. We’ll close our session with a short breathwork practice to invoke the qualities of Mangala - Mars. For each session we will meet on the day of the week that each planet represents, allowing us to tune into the supportive energy of that planet.

This process of metamorphosis of undoing, unbecoming and unraveling is a journey I know intimately. A journey that is never quite finished, yet one begins to see progress and to welcome oneself into this new being with more grace, ease and love.

I believe we are here to experience everything this life has to offer, even the pain and suffering we at times must endure and yet how beautiful when we can also embrace its joy, its longing and new beginnings. My transformation is short of finished, it is a constant journey I embrace (some days with more grace than others) and feel blessed to have had a combination of education, life experiences, teachings and great teachers along the way to guide my path.

One of my great teachers has been Jyotish, the “Science of Light” or Vedic Astrology as we call it in the West. Day by day, night by night, the light shines brighter and deeper into the crevices of my soul - this light provides guidance, understanding, deep compassion and the insight to take right action. What changes do I want to see and am I willing? Are you willing? I’ve been guilty—saying it, but not really believing it or walking the talk.

Este proceso de metamorfosis de deshacer y desentrañar es un viaje que conozco íntimamente. Un viaje que nunca termina del todo, sin embargo, uno comienza a ver el progreso y a acogerse a sí mismo en este nuevo ser con más gracia, facilidad y amor.

Creo que estamos aquí para experimentar todo lo que esta vida tiene para ofrecer, incluso el dolor y el sufrimiento que a veces debemos soportar y, sin embargo, qué hermoso cuando también podemos abrazar su alegría, su anhelo y sus nuevos comienzos. En la tradición védica/india, las ceremonias de fuego o Yagya, Havan o Homas, como suelen llamarse, se consideran rituales de purificación. Un ritual donde se hacen ofrendas al fuego usando diferentes hierbas y especias. Es un espacio sagrado para liberar y también fijar intenciones.

En la tradición védica/india, la diosa juega un papel importante en los rituales diarios y en la devoción hacia lo divino. La diosa Saraswati es la representación de las artes, la música, el habla y el aprendizaje. El planeta asociado con ella es Mercurio y su día de la semana es el miércoles. La diosa Lakshmi es la representación de la abundancia, la prosperidad, la belleza y el encanto. El planeta asociado con ella es Venus y su día de la semana es el viernes.

A menudo se ha compartido que uno no puede pedir el favor de Lakshmi sin buscar también el favor de Saraswati. Uno primero debe cultivar un estado de profunda sabiduría y aprendizaje a través de la gracia de Saraswati. Entonces podemos invocar la gracia de Lakshmi para que nos apoye con el regalo de la abundancia en nuestra vida. Esta abundancia no solo está ligada a la riqueza material, sino también a una mentalidad abundante y próspera.

Las prácticas de meditación, mantra y kriya nos ayudan a revivir los arquetipos de la diosa que llevamos dentro. Cuando realizamos una práctica durante 21 días o 40 días, estamos creando una huella energética dentro de todas las capas de los koshas.
