Wisdom Teeth 101: When It’s Time to See a Dentist.
Pain or Pressure: If you’re feeling persistent pain, pressure, or discomfort in the back of your mouth, it might be time for an evaluation.
• Swelling or Redness: Gum swelling around the last molars is a common sign of impacted or erupting wisdom teeth.
• Headaches or Jaw Pain: Pressure from wisdom teeth can radiate to the jaw or even cause headaches.
• Difficulty Chewing: If biting down feels uncomfortable, your wisdom teeth may be misaligned.
• Bad Breath or Bad Taste: This can indicate trapped food or infection.
• Crowding or Shifting Teeth: Wisdom teeth can push other teeth, especially after braces.
• Cysts or Infection: Any signs of infection should be checked immediately.
