🎩📚 Celebrating Dr. Seuss’ Birthday at Our Kendall Campus! 📚🎩

Our Kendall site had a wonderful time celebrating the birthday of the beloved children’s author, Dr. Seuss! Students and staff joined in the fun by reading some of his classic stories, enjoying themed activities, and embracing the creativity and imagination that his books inspire.

Dr. Seuss’ stories remind us that learning can be fun, that being unique is something to celebrate, and that everyone has the power to make a difference. From rhymes and laughter to colorful characters, it was a day full of smiles and imagination for our Kendall community.

📢 Today, March 5, we’re taking action — and we need YOU.

Across the country, advocates are contacting Congress to protect the rights of students with disabilities. Join us — it only takes a few minutes.

A federal law called the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) ensures students with disabilities have the right to special education services. For decades, the U.S. Department of Education has overseen IDEA to make sure it works for students and families.

Now, federal officials have proposed moving IDEA to another agency.

If that happens, it could:
• Disrupt critical services students depend on
• Create confusion for families, schools, and educators
• Make it harder to hold the government accountable

At The Arc of South Florida, we stand firmly in support of stability, strong protections, and accountability for students with disabilities. Our families deserve consistency — not uncertainty.

On February 20, 2026, family members, friends, board members, and staff gathered at our ACE Academy – Kendall Campus to honor the life and legacy of Helen Salazar Realini with the dedication of the Field of Dreams in her memory. 💙

Surrounded by loved ones, a commemorative plaque was unveiled recognizing Helen’s lifetime of generosity, advocacy, and unwavering commitment to the children and families we serve.

Her husband, Joe Realini, shared heartfelt reflections about Helen’s deep love for children and her belief in inclusion. Her children and close friends also spoke, offering touching memories that highlighted her compassion, leadership, and the profound impact she had on our community.

“The Arc of South Florida is deeply grateful for Helen Salazar Realini’s lifelong dedication and generosity,” shared our CEO, Gabriel Parra. “The ceremony was not only a tribute to her memory, but a celebration of the love, values, and impact she leaves behind.”

The Field of Dreams will forever stand as a symbol of inclusion, opportunity, and the belief that every child deserves a place to play, grow, and dream. ✨

FunDay brings together over 350 special citizens from across the Miami community to be paired with university students for a full day of connection, celebration, and FUN. Participants enjoyed the exciting FunFair 🎪 while building meaningful friendships and unforgettable memories.

Started in 1983, FunDay is the longest-standing service day at the University of Miami — a powerful reminder of the impact of inclusion, service, and community. 💙

From sweet treats and handmade valentines to smiles that light up every classroom — our students remind us that love is shown through patience, support, and lifting one another up every single day.

At ACE Academy (Pre-K–12th grade, up to age 22) and Project Thrive (Birth–5 Early Intervention Program), we are proud to create spaces where every child feels valued, supported, and celebrated. 💕
