Hospital Births in the Time of COVID 19:
This class specifically addresses the current realities of hospital births in light of the COVID 19 pandemic, providing a couple with a foundation of knowledge in order to understand how a doula helps facilitate their birthing plan and the skills to enact a remote doula’s guidance with confidence so that birthing partner and mama, working with an off-site doula, can effectively address the needs of the various stages of pregnancy and labor, and the inevitabilities that will occur. Couples will learn the strategies that a doula brings to a birth including: how to create a positive tone and relaxed birthing environment, hands on comfort measures, methods to help mama stay relaxed in her body and mind, an understanding of when and how to use different positions and props, as well as the latest research on COVID 19 and birthing, and current hospital procedures. Remote guidance from a professional doula is essential throughout pregnancy, during birthing, and postpartum, so that mothers and partners are equipped with the tools needed to confidently experience a peaceful and fulfilling birth
