The WHIMS study is investigating bacterial vaginosis (BV), the most common health condition affecting the female reproductive tract. Women with multiple episodes of BV have an increased risk of HIV by 40-60%. This NIH funded study is evaluating the behavioral, bacterial, and biological factors that contribute to BV and its reoccurrence.
