Ever heard of Lion’s Mane Mushroom? 🦁🍄

SOME INFO:
🔸Lion’s mane is an edible medicinal mushroom that has been used for thousands of years in Traditional Chinese Medicine
🔹It is believed to treat a multitude of ailments, mainly gastric ulcers and cognitive impairment 🧠
🔸It’s actually native to North America as well as some parts of Europe and Asia
🔹A growing body of research is supporting the idea that Lion’s Mane possess numerous health benefits, specifically for treating Alzheimer’s and Dementia (see slide 2)
🔸The most benefits seem to be in people who already have some cognitive deficit, so you probably won’t notice anything if you have a healthy brain.
🔹THAT BEING SAID, it might protect the brain so even if you aren’t suffering from anything now, taking it may prevent problems in the future
🔸More research in humans in needed, but the data is promising 🙏

HOW TO USE:

🔸Buy a supplement or tincture: make sure the company is third party tested and provides high quality product
🔹Cook it: you can actually make delicious “steaks” with Lion’s Mane, there are plenty of recipes online for this. I’ve tried it and it is delicious 😋

🚨 Talk to your doctor or licensed healthcare professional before starting any supplements to make sure it’s the right choice for you and is safe to use 🙏

Hope you learned something new today 😁🤓

Did someone say Banana Bread? 🍌🍞 😊

I tweaked a recipe I learned years ago so it had no added sugar (except for some stevia/erythritol in the chocolate chips). It honestly doesn’t need any more sweet!

Ingredients
🔸3 VERY ripe bananas
🔸1/2 tsp vanilla extract
🔸2 flax eggs (1 flax egg = 1 Tbsp ground flaxseed + 3 Tbsp water)
🔸1/4 cup melted coconut oil
🔸 3/4 cup coconut flour
🔸1/2 tsp baking soda
🔸1/2 tsp baking powder
🔸1 tsp cinnamon (or more if you’re like me and are obsessed)
🔸1/4 tsp salt
🔸3/4 bag of lily’s dark chocolate chips (if you don’t mind a little added sugar, makes amazing chocolate chips sweetened with raw coconut sugar)

Instructions
🔹Mash bananas, butter and vanilla until it become a nice paste (but still leave some bits of banana
🔹Make the flax eggs in a small bowl and let sit for 5 min. Mix again, add into the banana paste and whisk until combined
🔹Mix the dry ingredients in a separate bowl, then add and whisk into your main bowl
🔹Add in the chocolate chips
🔹”Butter” an 8”x8” baking dish with coconut oil or vegan butter if you prefer, pour in the mix and place it in the oven!
🔹Let it cook for 40-55 minutes or until top is golden brown and you can cleanly take a knife or toothpick out of the center.

NOTE: Although ripe bananas contain more sugar, adding flax can mitigate this because of how much fiber they have and prevent a spike in blood sugar, which is why I prefer to make mine with ground flaxseed

ENJOY 😋

🔹Whisk in the eggs OR Make the flax eggs in a small bowl and let sit for 5 min. Mix again, add into the banana paste and whisk until combined
🔹Mix the dry ingredients in a separate bowl, then add and whisk into your main bowl. If it seems to thick, you can always add a little milk of your choice
🔹Add in the chocolate chips
🔹”Butter” an 8”x8” baking dish with coconut oil OR butter, pour in the mix and place it in the oven!

Tip: it tastes amazing with some almond butter 🤩

🏝 🇭🇹 Ayiti Cherie 🇭🇹 🏝There’s no place like home ❤️ Nor a song more fitting

I love photography and actually have another page dedicated to it and I decided I’m going to combine it with this page. Part of living a healthy life is pursuing your passions, and photography is one of mine 😁. Hopefully I can one day inspire just one person to pursue what they love ❤️

🌍 Nature is beautiful, the world is beautiful, and capturing that beauty helps remind me of that whenever I get caught up in my thoughts, which is pretty often 😅 I will of course be sharing some info related to what I post 🤓

DID YOU KNOW?

🔸Sunlight is actually white! Well it’s made up of all the colors in the light spectrum, which in physics is called “white” 🤯
🔹Particles and gases in our atmosphere refract the light and create these amazing colors! ⭐️
