An autism diagnosis changes everything.

Not just your child’s world…
but your relationship, your communication, your connection.

And no one really talks about that part.

The distance.
The misalignment.
The feeling of being on two completely different pages while trying to hold everything together.

But I’ve also seen what happens when couples learn how to navigate this together.

It’s not about going back to who you were before…
it’s about becoming a stronger version of your relationship now.

💬 If this resonates, drop a 🤍 or share this with someone who needs to feel seen.

No one prepares you for this version of motherhood.

The kind where
patience isn’t optional…
rest feels like survival…
and the smallest wins feel like everything.

The kind where you learn to celebrate what others might overlook.
Where communication doesn’t always come easy…
but connection runs deep.

Autism motherhood changed me.
Not just as a parent…
but as a person.

Softer.
Stronger.
More aware.
More present.

And even on the hardest days—
the ones that break you a little—
you learn how to put yourself back together
with grace.

If you’re walking this journey too…
I see you. 💙

Built-in accountability partner…
and she doesn’t miss a thing 😅

I spent so long hoping for communication—
and now it’s here, in ways I never expected.

Not always easy… but always powerful.

To my autism parents raising non-speaking children—
this is what progress can look like.
Different. Unexpected. Beautiful.

And while you’re showing up for them every day…
don’t forget to show up for yourself too 🤍

Because a regulated parent creates space for connection.

Some parents hear “Mom” a hundred times a day.

I wait for the moments she chooses to let me in.

And when she does—through her AAC, through her interests—
it feels like the loudest, most beautiful “I’m here with you.”

Autism will not define their bond…

They don’t know it yet…
but the way I protect their bond now will shape how they love each other for the rest of their lives.

As an autism mom, it would be easy to let autism take center stage in our home…
to let it dictate the roles, the attention, the dynamic between siblings.

But I won’t let it define their relationship.

Because they are not just “the sibling of a child with autism.”
They are sisters.
Built on laughter, patience, inside jokes, hard moments, and deep, unspoken understanding.

Yes, it’s different.
Yes, it stretches them.
Yes, it asks more of them than most people will ever see.

But it also builds something powerful—
empathy, loyalty, protectiveness, and a connection that runs deeper than words.

So I’m intentional.
I create space for both of them.
I protect their individual needs and their relationship.
I remind them—they belong to each other, not to a diagnosis.

And one day…
they won’t see autism as what separated them—
they’ll see it as part of what strengthened them.

🤍 Autism doesn’t define their bond.
Love, guidance, and intention do.

To every autism mom trying to hold that balance… I see you.

I was you at one point…until
I accepted and decided….

🧠to work on your mindset

😢to grieve properly

💪🏻to improve my self care

📚to educate myself

🗣️to advocate for my child

👯‍♀️to find community

👀 to find beauty in my new normal

EVERYTHING CHANGED…and I WAS FINE! We are both fine!

You got this momma! 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻

She’s my WHY.

I’m mentally prepared that she will always need a caretaker.

And I hope it’s me for as long as possible. It’s not skinny that I’m chasing. It’s strength. 💪🏻

She didn’t ask for this…

But she’s amazing at it!

Meet MEGAN…the best sister in the world!

She learned compassion before she could even spell it.

She didn’t sign up for this role…
but she stepped into it with more love, patience, and strength than most adults ever will.

Autism siblings are different.
They become the best friend when the world feels confusing.
The advocate when their sibling doesn’t have the words.
The protector in spaces that aren’t always kind.

They learn flexibility.
They learn empathy.
They learn that love doesn’t always look typical—but it runs deeper than most will ever understand.

And while the world may not always see them…
we do.

To the siblings of children with autism:
You are extraordinary.
You are seen.
You are appreciated more than words can hold.

Our family is better because of you. 💙

World Autism Awareness Day is everyday in my household.

MEET MY GORGEOUS FRANCESCA aka FRENCHIE…

She may not speak…
but she feels everything.

And the hardest part isn’t autism—
it’s the way the world responds to it.

Today isn’t about awareness.
It’s about understanding in real life moments.

💙 Be the person who gets it.
💙 Be the person who softens instead of judges.

If this made you pause… share it.

Sorry not sorry! 😝

Somewhere along the way…
you learned that your worth was measured by how much you could carry.

How available you were.
How much you gave.
How little you needed.

So you became everything to everyone—
the reliable one
the strong one
the one who “just handles it”

And now?
You’re exhausted…
but still telling yourself to push through.

Here’s the truth no one told you:

You were never meant to be everything to everyone.
That role will drain you every single time.

Because the more you abandon yourself to meet everyone else’s needs…
the further you get from feeling like you.

You don’t need to do more.
You don’t need to prove more.

You need to come back to yourself.

To ask:
👉 What do I actually need right now?
👉 Where am I overgiving?
👉 What would it look like to choose me—without guilt?

Because being “enough” isn’t something you earn through exhaustion.
It’s something you decide.

And when you start choosing yourself?
Everything shifts.

Less resentment.
Less burnout.
More clarity.
More peace.

This is the work.
