Mama, are you truly watching over your home—or just going through the motions?
Proverbs 31:27 says, “She watches over the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.” But let’s be real—how often do we let distractions, exhaustion, or even apathy pull us away from this calling?
For me, this looks like staying off my phone when I’m with my kids. As a homeschooling mom, a mentor, and someone who supports women through my phone, it’s so easy to justify constantly checking messages or scrolling “just for a second.” But I’ve realized that every moment I’m glued to my screen is a moment I’m not fully present with my family.
God didn’t give us these children so we could just survive motherhood. He called us to lead, protect, and steward our homes with wisdom and diligence. That means staying alert, praying over our families, and cutting out the things that keep us from being present and intentional.
Are we guarding what comes into our home? Are we discipling our children daily? Are we resisting laziness in the way we manage our time and energy?
This isn’t about perfection—it’s about obedience. Let’s rise up and take our role seriously. Our children’s hearts are at stake.
How is God calling you to be more intentional in watching over your home this week? Drop it in the comments!
