If your child is biting toys, shirts, fingers… or everything in sight, you are not alone. Many children explore and regulate through their mouths, especially during early development. Instead of stopping it right away, we look at what the child’s body might be telling us. Sometimes they need sensory input, teething relief, or help communicating what they need. When we understand the why, we can support them in healthier ways. That’s the RTS approach. 🩵

The sooner we strengthen communication, confidence, and connection, the smoother school, friendships, and everyday moments become. You are not dramatic. You are intuitive. From SLPA to grad school… and now back home as our CF SLP. 🩵 Stephanie was one of our very first SLPA hires when RTS was just getting started. She left to grow, to learn, to become an SLP and now she’s back completing her Clinical Fellowship with us.

Watching therapists grow within our walls and then choose to return because they felt supported, mentored, and safe enough to come back says everything about the culture we’re building. This is more than a job. It’s community. It’s mentorship. It’s the RTS approach.

Before jumping to quick fixes, we need to understand the why. If your child isn’t talking more, it’s not because you need a bigger toy shelf. It’s because language doesn’t grow from stuff, it grows from connection. A simple farm set, bubbles, or a ball ramp can build turn-taking, prepositions, verbs, core words, early phrases, and cause and effect in one playful routine and your child just thinks they’re having fun. POV: You’re on toy number seven asking, “Have you ever tried this one?” 😂 Finding a child’s preferred toy isn’t random. It takes observation, flexibility, and a willingness to follow their lead instead of forcing our plan. When we discover what truly engages them, connection increases and communication grows naturally. Sometimes it takes a few bins. That’s okay.
